Steve Sullivan (lower body) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's game in Colorado. He didn't practice on Monday after leaving Saturday's contest with a lower-body injury, but his problem does not appear to be serious. Sullivan has one goal and six assists in 17 games this season.

Pittsburgh's Steve Sullivan left Saturday's game with a lower-body injury. After the game, Pittsburgh head coach Dan Bylsma said Sullivan has a lower body injury and isn't sure of the injury's severity. We will give you an update on his status as soon as we know more.

Steve Sullivan has no goals and three assists in 13 games this season with Pittsburgh. "I think the goals will come," said a snake-bitten Sullivan. "If I get 12, 13 scoring chances like I have had in the next 12 or 13 games, hopefully, I'll have four or five goals by then. I'm getting a lot of scoring chances." He has come up empty on 24 shots despite seeing time with Evgeni Malkin, when he's been healthy, and the team's leading goal scorer James Neal. Given the talent he plays with, the puck should start crossing the goal line for him soon.

Steve Sullivan is still trying to work his way through Pittsburgh's system. "I'm learning that it's a very upbeat, high-tempo system, and there are situations where you can take advantage of other teams," he said after Saturday's loss to Buffalo. "I've just got to learn to take advantage of those soft spots where I can get to and try to use my speed to my advantage. It's tough to get systems in practice, so I'm getting most of my work in games." Sullivan has two assists in six games this season, but those numbers should improve once he gets accustomed to his new surroundings and his time on the power play will help as well.

Steve Sullivan had a goal and an assist to lead the Penguins in a 4-2 win over Chicago on Friday. Sullivan will be a nice sleeper if he can continue to get time on the power play. Matt Cooke, Joe Vitale, and Evgeni Malkin all added goals in the win. Brandon Pirri scored twice for the Hawks in the loss. Brent Johnson made 35 saves on 37 shots for the victory.

Steve Sullivan exited Monday's team scrimmage early because of tightness in his groin. He was not able practice on Tuesday, but said that the issue isn't serious. Injuries have been a problem for Sullivan at this stage of his career, but it's too early to push the panic button. He should still be considered a high-risk, high-reward player going into your drafts.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are expected to experiment with Steve Sullivan on the point for their power play. "We'll see a fair amount of that, having four forwards on the ice," coach Dan Bylsma said. "It also provides another right [-handed] shot for a unit that works off the left side with [Crosby] or [Malkin], which we've worked in the past. We're going to involve [Crosby] and [Malkin] and [Sullivan] more with the people bringing the puck up the ice. ... You're putting it in the hands of the guys who are the best at carrying the puck up the ice, and that does make it harder for other teams." Sullivan was signed as a free agent this past summer and playing alongside Pittsburgh's talented centers could give his fantasy value a boost if he stays healthier.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed Steve Sullivan to a one-year/$1.5 million contract. Sullivan could end up playing alongside Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin, but his health makes him a big question mark. He had 10 goals and 22 points in just 44 games last season. Consider him a high-risk, high-reward player when it comes time to draft your fantasy team.

The Nashville Predators don't plan to re-sign Steve Sullivan. "It's unfortunate that every good thing comes to an end," Predators GM Poile said. "Steve will go down in our history as one of our best and most popular players." Sullivan will test the free agent waters on Friday. He had 10 goals and 22 points in 44 games last season.
