Despres (head) is no longer listed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
EDGE Analysis
While there's no guarantee that Despres will be ready to go when the Ducks open the second round of the playoffs against the Oilers, his removal from the ranks of the IR seems to suggest that he could be ready for Game 1. The 25-year-old has not suited up since being knocked out of action during the first game of the season, so even if he is able to go soon, there's a chance he'll be dealing with some rust as he gets readjusted.

Despres could miss an extended period of time due to his head injury, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Ducks' general manager Bob Murray characterized the situation as a "very sensitive issue."
EDGE Analysis
The overall tone when discussing Despres' ailment on Tuesday was very somber and seemed to imply that he could be dealing with a head issue similar to what players like Marc Savard have dealt with in the past. Hopefully it isn't as serious as that, but either way we wouldn't expect to see Despres on the ice anytime soon.

Despres (head) is on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
EDGE Analysis
Despres is believed to be dealing with a concussion, and the veteran defender has no timetable for his return to game action. However, per league rules, he'll be eligible to return once healthy, assuming the placement on IR is retroactive to his first and only game played this season -- Oct. 13 against Dallas.

Despres (head) has returned to Southern California after visiting specialists on the East Coast and remains without a timetable to return, the Orange County-Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despres exited last Thursday's contest with the upper-body issue and it sounds as though it could be a concussion issue. It's a bit concerning, as general manager Bob Murray suggested that it may be a recurrence of the issues he went through last season. Considering he's back home, it's safe to rule him out for Thursday's contest and it's quite possible the blueliner will miss beyond that.

Despres (upper-body) is out for Tuesday's contest against New Jersey, Eric Stephens of OCRegister.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despres suffered the injury on Thursday and it is now reported that he could be dealing with concussion-like symptoms. If it's confirmed that the blueliner did indeed sustain the ailment, he could be sidelined until November as the swelling in his head subsides. In the meantime, Jacob Larsson figures to see an uptick in his ice time on Anaheim's second defensive line.

Despres (upper body) will miss Sunday's game against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
This will be the second game in a row that Despres will miss due to the upper body injury that he suffered on Thursday night. He remains day-to-day for now and his status will be worth monitoring leading up to the Ducks' next game on Tuesday. With Korbinian Holzer also scratched Sunday, look to rookie Jacob Larsson to receive more ice time.

Despres (upper body) will not play Saturday against Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Despres remains day-to-day until further notice. On Saturday, the imposing rearguard reportedly will be replaced in the lineup by fifth-year German Korbinian Holzer, though neither player adds more than a teaspoon's worth of offense when healthy.

Despres left Thursday's game in the second period with an upper-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
Despres is day-to-day for now, so the injury doesn't seem too serious. The 25-year-old defenseman wasn't a very valuable fantasy option before the injury, so afterwords he's even less so.

Despres (undisclosed) has been cleared to return to play and is available to suit up against the Jets on Tuesday, Curtis Zupke of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despres, sidelined for the team's previous six contests, will be able to get some game action in prior to the postseason. Since joining the Ducks organziation via trade, the blueliner has tallied a meager four points, but has added 55 hits and 60 blocked shots. Unless you need help in those defensive categories, the 24-year-old is a low-end fantasy option due to his lack of offensive production.

Despres (undisclosed) will not play Thursday against the Maple Leafs, the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The report notes Despres was sent home to be evaluated, possibly to determine if the blueliner has any recurring symptoms from the concussion that sidelined him earlier this season. "He got hit last game and he wasn't feeling right," coach Bruce Boudreau noted of Despres. "With his history, we wanted to make sure that he's completely better before he plays."
