Acolatse was released by the Panthers on Monday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

Acolatse spent last season in the AHL and he seems destined for another year there as well, now being able to sign with any interested suitor despite signing a one-year deal with Florida early in July.

Acolatse signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers on Wednesday, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Acolatse wasn't tendered a qualifying offer by the Flames earlier this week after he recorded 19 points in 38 games with AHL Adirondack last season. The 24-year-old will serve as a minor-league depth body for the Panthers.

Acolatse was waived by the Flames on Wednesday, NHL.com's Aaron Vickers reports. He's expected to clear waivers and report to AHL Adirondack. Acolatse, 24, notched 17 points over 41 with the Sharks' AHL affiliate (Worcester) in 2013-14.

Sena Acolatse has inked a one-year deal with the Calgary Flames. He'll earn $7000,000 in the NHL and $150,000 if he plays in the AHL. "Our guys really liked him - he brings an edge, a physical presence," assistant GM Craig Conroy said. "we were actually trying to get him (last season). We think that that's a guy, who, moving forward, has a chance (to play (in the NHL)." He wasn't given a qualifying offer by San Jose after spending the last three seasons in AHL Worcester.
