Sami Lepisto was signed by CHI on Friday January 18.

Sami Lepisto has been released by KHL Lokomotiv. Lepisto had three assists and 30 penalty minutes in 26 KHL games. He wasn't able to sign a contract with an NHL team before the lockout started.

Sami Lepisto drew into the Chicago lineup on Saturday after being a healthy scratch in Game 1. Lepisto replaced Sean O'Donnell on the Chicago blueline but played only 4:25 minutes in the Blackhawks 4-3 overtime win. He could remain in the Chicago lineup for Game 3 Tuesday as it is unlikely that coach Joel Quenneville will tinker with a winning lineup.

"Sami's ... out not just day-to-day," coach Joel Quenneville said. "He's out for a bit here." Lepisto has three points, 22 hits and a plus-3 rating in 25 games with the Blackhawks in 2011-12.
