Petteri Nokelainen signed a one-year contract signed a one-year contract with Brynas IF of the Swedish Hockey League, according to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta. Nokelainen didn't end up playing in the NHL last season due to a back injury. The Finnish-born winger was waived in March. Prior to that, he had two goals and four points in 17 AHL games with the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Petteri Nokelainen is apparently ready to return from a back injury, so the Canadiens have placed him on waivers. He'll get to work is way back into game shape in the minors if he clears. However, he may not have a spot with Montreal once he's gotten some games under his belt.

Petteri Nokelainen (back) participated in Tuesday's practice and took part in all the drills. He hasn't played yet this season because of a lingering back issue, but this session may suggest that he is close to being available. This is just an FYI though, as Nokelainen won't have any fantasy value once he was able to return to the lineup.

Petteri Nokelainen practiced with his Montreal teammates for the first time this season on Friday. The 27-year-old checking forward had been out of action since the beginning of the campaign with a lingering back issue. Nokelainen has been cleared for contact but there is no timetable yet for his return.

Petteri Nokelainen returned to action on Friday January 18.

Petteri Nokelainen (back) won't be able to start the camp for the Canadiens this week. Nokelainen wont have any fantasy value in standard leagues this season, but he is however the only player currently injured on the Habs' roster.

Petteri Nokelainen has signed a one-year/$575,000 deal with the Montreal Canadiens. Nokelainen had three goals and four assists in 56 games in 2011-12. He isn't expected to have any fantasy value in standard leagues next season.

Petteri Nokelainen left Saturday's game in Washington in the second period with an upper body injury. Nokelainen started the season as a member of the Phoenix Coyotes but was dealt to Montreal for Brock Trotter and a seventh round pick as Garrett Stafford was also sent to Montreal. He has no fantasy value.

Petteri Nokelainen returned to action on Friday February 24.

Petteri Nokelainen skated on Monday and he might return to action this weekend when the Canadiens head out on their three-game road swing. He hasn't played since Jan. 20 because of an undisclosed ailment.
