Rozsival (ankle) is nearing a return to action, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rozsival is expected to be a full participant in Wednesday's practice, and could make his season debut Saturday against the Blues or Sunday against Calgary. Duncan Keith (knee) also has a chance of returning to game action in one of those contests, meaning the depleted Blackhawks' defensive corps is on the verge of being bolstered by two strong veteran presences.

Rozsival (ankle) isn't expected to return at any point this week, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rozsival skated during Monday's practice, but apparently isn't very close to rejoining the lineup. His progression through practice should begin to clear up the blueliner's timetable, but it appears as though he's at least another week out.

Rozsival appeared in the Blackhawk's Monday morning skate, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rozsival has continued to participate in morning skates and this is a good indication that he is on track to play in his initial estimated return date, Nov. 2 against the Kings. Rozsival hasn't seen game action since being placed on the long-term reserve on Oct. 6. This next week should provide a sufficient amount of time for the defenseman to get back to game speed.

Rozsival participated in Chicago's Saturday morning skate, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rozsival was placed on long-term injured reserve on Oct. 6, meaning he won't be eligible to return to the Blackhawks' lineup until Nov. 2 against the Kings. However, it's definitely encouraging that Rozsival was able to return to the ice Saturday, as he should now have ample time to get up to speed ahead of Chicago's Nov. 2 tilt against L.A. The next step in Rozsival's rehabilitation will be getting cleared for contact by the Hawks' medical staff.

Rozsival is expected to start skating this week, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rozsival was placed on long-term IR on Oct. 6, which means he won't be eligible to return to action until Nov. 2 against the Kings. It's definitely encouraging, however, that he is expected to resume skating this week, as it bodes well for his chances of making his return to action in that matchup with Los Angeles. It's a step in the right direction, but Rozsival will need to log a number of full contact practices before re-entering the Hawks' lineup.

Rozsival was placed on long-term IR Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The move comes as no surprise, as Rozsival was either going to land on IR or long-term IR at the start of the season while he continues to recover from the fractured left ankle he suffered during the playoffs last season. He'll now be forced to miss at least 24 calendar days and 10 regular-season contests while on long-term IR. In his absence, Ville Pokka and David Rundblad will serve as the team's sixth and seventh defenseman. If healthy, Rozsival will be eligible to return to action Nov. 2 against the Kings.

Rozsival is expected to start the season on injured reserve or long term injured reserve, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rozsival is still recovering from the fractured left ankle he suffered during the playoffs last season, and probably won't start taking contact in practice for at least another week, so it makes sense for the 37-year-old to start the season on IR. If he's put on IR, he'll be forced to miss at least a week of action, if he's put on LTIR, he'll be forced to miss at least 24 calendar days and 10 regular-season contests. In his absence, David Rundblad or Viktor Svedberg will likely slot in as Chicago's sixth defender.

Head coach Joel Quenneville told reporters on Monday that it will likely be a few weeks until Rozsival is ready to start taking contact in practice, NHL.com's Brian Hedger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rozsival is still recovering from the fractured left ankle he suffered during the playoffs last season, but apparently showed enough early on in Chicago's training camp to secure a spot on the Hawks' 23-man roster. It sounds like he won't be ready for Chicago's season opener on Oct. 7, but could be back in time for their Oct. 14 matchup with the Flyers.

Rozsival agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Blackhawks on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Many believed that Rozsival would retire after suffering a gruesome season-ending ankle injury during the playoffs. However, Rozsival successfully completed the 12-week rehab process the injury required this offseason, and reported to Blackhawks training camp on a professional tryout offer on Thursday. The 37-year-old apparently showed enough over the first few days of camp to secure a roster spot with the Hawks heading into the 2015-16 campaign, and will likely slot into a third-pairing role to begin the season.

Rozsival (ankle) reported to Blackhawks training camp Thursday on a professional tryout offer, ESPN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
It looked quite possible that the 37-year-old Rozsival would call it a career after fracturing his left ankle in gruesome fashion during the playoffs, but the blueliner completed the 12-week rehab process without incident and has elected to keep playing. Rozsival's familiarity with coach Joel Quenneville will likely work in his favor as he aims to secure a third-pairing role with the Blackhawks, but he'll face stiff competition from a number of young defensemen as well as veteran options like Lubomir Visnovsky and Jan Hejda, both of whom were also brought into camp on PTOs.
