Cooke's injury is not serious and he will not miss a lot of time, listed as day-to-day. With Cooke out the Wild have recalled Stephane Veilleux to play on Thursday.

Cooke was suspended for kneeing Colorado Avalanche defenseman Tyson Barrie in the first round. He will replace Matt Moulson on the third line with rookies Erik Haula and Justin Fontaine.

Not as severe a suspension as many suspected for the repeat offender but Cooke will miss a chunk of the Wild playoffs and / or next season.

Expect Cooke to see at least a few games for the ugly play that ended Barrie's season.

Cooke, 34, had 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) and 36 penalty minutes in 48 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2012-13. He led team forwards with 41 blocked shots, ranked second among team forwards in shorthanded minutes per game at 2:11, and ranked fifth on Pittsburgh with 97 hits.

Cooke isn't fantasy relevant.

Cooke practiced on a line with Jordan Staal, not Sidney Crosby. He scored 19 goals and 37 points in 75 games.

Cooke moves down to the third line. He has nine goals and 20 points through 57 games with only 20 PIM.

With the addition of Cal O'Reilly, Cooke moves onto the Dupuis/Jeffrey line. He has eight goals and 17 points through 51 games.

Cooke will start the game on the third line tonight. The controversial winger has seven goals and 14 points over 44 games.
