Turco will start tonight and Thomas will gett the night off altogether; he will not even dress. Turco has won his last two starts, including Saturday on Long Island. He is 2-1-0 with a 3.28 GAA since Boston signed him in early March.

Turco said that he ended up making simple and avoidable mistakes. "It wasn't anything major really, just keep your stick and freeze the puck, and life would be a lot different," said Turco. "That probably made it that much more disheartening when I laid my head down (Tuesday night). Getting up (yesterday), I know that I can correct those things in the blink of an eye. I want to make darned sure they never happen again, for however long I get to play in this league." There's not much time left in the regular season, but Turco might get another chance.

Marty Turco allowed four goals on 12 shots in a 6-1 loss to the Lightning Tuesday night. Turco allowed three goals in the game's first five minutes and was promptly lifted in favor of Tim Thomas, but after he gave up a pair of goals of his own, Turco re-entered the game and allowed another Tampa marker. It seems likely that Turco will be used sparingly will Tuukka Rask is sidelined.
