Barch has been released from his professional tryout offer with the Coyotes. The Coyotes auditioned several players for checking line roles in training camp, but Barch didn't do enough to warrant a spot on the team's 23-man roster. He'll likely turn his attention toward landing an AHL deal.

Krys Barch is eligible for unrestricted free agency this summer and he hopes to be back with the Florida Panthers. Interim coach Peter Horachek appears to be a fan of Barch's as well, which could help. "He's been a warrior for us, clearly one of our emotional leaders on the bench and in the locker room," Horachek said. "He speaks up; he sticks up for his teammates and has their backs all over the ice." The Panthers' enforcer has four assists and 99 penalty minutes in 55 games this year.

Krys Barch sat out his second straight game Thursday because he was feeling under the weather. He has four assists and 99 penalty minutes in 55 games this season.

Krys Barch has suited up in more games since interim coach Peter Horchek took over. He was a healthy scratch in 10 of the first 16 games with former coach Kevin Dineen at the helm, but has been scratched in just five of the last 30 games under Horachek. "Krys is one of the best leaders in our locker room and he's one of the most vocal guys on our bench," Horachek said. "He understands what we're doing, what kind of system we want to play." He also likes Barch's physical play. Barch has recorded three assists and 62 penalty minutes in 31 games this year.

Krys Barch sat out Saturday's game against Detroit as a healthy scratch. He was in the press box so that Scott Gomez could play. We anticipate that Panthers' coach Peter Horachek will rotate Barch with Gomez and possibly David Hayes and Drew Shore on the teams' fourth line.

Krys Barch played in his first game for the Florida Panthers and picked up a ten minute misconduct. Barch is an enforcer and played against the Blues on the fourth line Saturday after being a healthy scratch for the first game of the season. He replaced Drew Shore in the lineup and was a minus-1 as the Panthers were on the wrong end of a 7-0 shellacking. Barch gives you penalty minutes and little else in fantasy hockey.

Krys Barch has been shipped to the Florida Panthers. The Panthers also acquired a seventh-round pick in 2015 in exchange for Scott Timmins and a sixth-round pick in 2014. Barch was a member of the Cats in 2011-12 and he ended up with 92 penalty minutes in 41 games. He appeared in 22 contests with the Devils during the lockout-shortened season.

New Jersey's Krys Barch is fighting for a spot in the New Jersey Devils' training camp by, er, fighting. He was in three of them with Brett Gallant of the Islanders during preseason play Thursday night. There were stitched cuts below his right eye, above his left eye and on the left side of his nose. There were bruises below both eyes. But it did not keep Barch from practicing Friday. "Just a normal day at the office, I would say," Barch said. "You haven't gotten in (a fight) over the summer and you've lived a life of luxury. My wife has had a semi-handsome individual for three months. It's about time I got a little ugly. To be honest, I feel better on the ice when I'm a little dirty." Barch didn't play a game after Mar. 19 last season, sitting out the last 18 but coach Pete DeBoer said he has a need this season for the role Barch plays.

Krys Barch tumbled headfirst into the boards on a hit by Philadelphia's Daniel Briere, but he returned to the game and finished it Wednesday night. "He just kind of caught me there, adjusted my neck for me," Barch joked. "I've been hit harder with a fist than that." Barch has no points and 44 penalty minutes in 20 games this campaign.
