Jochen Hecht announced his retirement from hockey. After 13 seasons in the NHL the underrated two-way pivot decided to call it quits. Hecht played for St. Louis, Edmonton and Buffalo and scored 186 goals and registered 463 points in 833 NHL games. We wish him all the best.

Jochen Hecht scored for Buffalo Tuesday night. His fifth goal of the season gave the Sabres a 2-1 lead early in the third period in what would eventually become a 4-2 victory. Hecht, who is the Sabres' candidate for the Masterton Trophy, has 14 points in 46 games this year after missing most the 2011-12 campaign because of a concussion.

Jochen Hecht scored a goal in Buffalo's 3-1 win Sunday. Hecht has two goals and four points in six games this season. Even with that mini-hot streak, he has little to no fantasy value in standard leagues.

Jochen Hecht scored one of Buffalo's two goals in a 3-2 loss to the Flyers on Sunday evening. Formerly a decent offensive producer, Hecht's role is now strictly that of a checker, as his two goals in 25 games are evidence of. Brian Flynn also scored for the second time in his NHL career in the losing effort.

For the first time since he joined the Sabres in 2003, Jochen Hecht was a healthy scratch. He did not play Thursday night against the Devils and was not too happy about it. When approached by the media, Hecht responed, "No comment. Talk to the guys that are playing". The 35-year-old forward is not contributing much on offence with only six points in 24 games despite playing left wing on the Sabres' 3rd line alongside the talented Drew Stafford and rookie phenom Mikhail Grigorenko. The way Buffalo coach Ron Rolston was talking after practice Friday, we wouldn't be surprised if Hecht is back in the lineup Sunday against the Flyers.

Jochen Hecht suited up in the 800th game of his career Tuesday night. He is the 66th active NHL player to reach 800 games played and 580 of them came with Buffalo. Reaching the milestone has to feel good for the veteran forward given that his playing days were almost brought to an end because of concussion problems. Hecht has three assists and no goals in 14 games this campaign.

Jochen Hecht feels great two games into his return from concussion problems and he has helped the Sabres already this season while on the penalty kill. He has averaged 2:51 of shorthanded ice time per game, which is second among Buffalo's forwards. Hecht has started the 2013 campaign playing wing on the third line because of Ville Leino's leg injury. When Leino returns, Hecht will probably center Buffalo's fourth unit. He shouldn't be counted for very much offense this year and shouldn't be on your fantasy radar.

Jochen Hecht is very happy to be back in Buffalo. Hecht inked a one-year/$1 million deal with the Sabres on Sunday. "There was a time during the summer where I didn't think it was going to happen but everything worked out," he said. "The situations we imagined, the best one came out by returning back to Buffalo." Hecht will probably serve as a bottom-six forward and help Buffalo kill penalties.

Jochen Hecht's new contract with the Buffalo Sabres is a one-year/$1 million deal. Hecht can earn an addition $250k by activating bonuses tied into the number of games he plays. He had four goals and eight points in 22 games with the Buffalo Sabres last season. He also played in six DEL games during the lockout.

The Sabres have agreed to sign Jochen Hecht to a one-year deal, according to the German club Adler Mannheim. Hecht played in six games, recording 13 points, with the team during the lockout. The center participated in just 22 games last year because of concussions and will provide the Sabres with much-needed depth up the middle. Teams can't officially sign players until the CBA is ratified, and that should come early Saturday.
