Bobkov was reassigned to ECHL Utah on Thursday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Bobkov was asked to do little more than serve as insurance behind Frederik Andersen when he was recalled from AHL Norfolk on Dec. 1, as he didn't get in a single game during his nearly-two-week stay with the parent club. With Jason LaBarbera (hand) healthy, Ilya Bryzgalov set to become the backup goalie following a conditioning stint, and John Gibson (groin) also nearing a return, Bobkov ranks a distant fifth on the organizational goalie depth chart.

Bobkov was recalled from AHL Norfolk on Monday, according to the NHL's media website. It's not guaranteed that Bobkov will be called upon to back up Frederik Andersen during Monday's game against the Bruins, but he'll at least be on hand as insurance if Jason LaBarbera (upper body) isn't fit to serve as the team's No. 2 netminder. Bobkov is a woeful 1-4-0 with a 4.70 GAA and .842 save percentage over six outings at Norfolk, so expect the Ducks to use him only as a last resort.
