Goalie Start: Tokarski leads the Habs onto the ice for warmups. dailyfaceoff.com Mon 5/19/14 7:56 PM

With Carey Price sidelined for the rest of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Habs will roll with the 24-year-old Tokariski in game 2 vs. the Rangers. Without Price, the Habs are in trouble, but Tokarski played well in a brief stint with the Canadiens this season. He was 2-0 with a 1.84 GAA and .946 SV% with Montreal and went 20-16-3 with a 2.38 GAA and .919 SV% with Hamilton in 41 AHL games. He faces the tall task of going head-to-head with Henrik Lundqvist.

Tokarki, 24 was 2-0-0 with a 1.84 GAA and .946 SV% in his brief time with Montreal this season. While with Hamilton he has gone 20-15-3 with a 2.36 GAA and .920 SV%. Tokarski will likely spend another season in the AHL before moving up to be Cary Price's backup when Peter Budaj's contract is up at the end of next season.

Goalie Start: Tokarski in goal for the Habs. dailyfaceoff.com Sun 3/16/14 7:56 PM

Tokarski gets the start instead of Peter Budaj as Carey Price is in Montreal resting after winning last night. Tokarski is 1-0-0 with a 2.91 GAA and .922 SV% in one start and one relief appearance. He has a great spot-start matchup vs. the Sabres.

DAILY PRIME- MARCH 6, 2014: AND, BREATHE! primepucks.com Thu 3/6/14 8:10 AM

Newly acquired Martin St. Louis made it in time for last night's NY Ranger debut and impressed everywhere on the ice except the score sheet, but that is only a matter of time. St. Louis and Brad Richards showed some of that old chemistry they had but were off just by a slight bit. Changing teams shouldn't change the production from the talented RWer....Tyler Bozak is an important cog in the Maple Leaf machine and he proved that last nigth with a clutch penalty shot goal that opened the scoring against the Rangers, and then winning it in overtime. He now has 37 points in 40 games, so if you weren't about Bo before, you better know Bo now. Does anyone remember the terrible start Claude Giroux had a t the beginning of the season? It seems so long ago but if you look now, Giroux is tied for 6th in league scoring, only to move higher before the end of the season. The G-man led the Flyers with 2 goals and an assist before Washington was thwarted in their attempt at a comeback.....Jakub Voracek loves playing against Washington as evidenced by his 5-point performance in the back-to-back series. Voracek followed up his 1 goal and 2 assist Sunday with a 2-goal night.  Voracek can get streaky hot which is good news for those competing late in their fantasy season.... Capitals D-man, Mike Green, has been showing signs of life lately which is good news for either who stuck through the worse of it. Or for those who traded for the enigmatic Green recently.  Although he hasn't potted a goal his last 5 games, he does have 5 assists in his last 2 games.  Do I dare say Green is back? The Ottawa Senators marched into Calgary and were stampeded by the Flames. The Sens didn't mount much of an attack and once the third period started, they were down 3-0 to rookie goaltender, Joni Ortio. Ortio earned his first NHL victory 4-1.  Congratulations!  The Flames were practically inactive during the trade deadline and the Senators probably should have been more active by the looks of last night's game. The Montreal Canadiens came out of last night's game against Anaheim with an important two points with a win in the shootout. Still without the services of Olympic gold medal goalie Carey Price, the Habs struck early and made their way to the SO win. It helped that they kept the dynamic duo of Getzlaf and Perry off the score sheet.  Dustin Tokarski earned his 12nd NHL win in the spot start for Montreal after being called up.

Goalie Start: Tokarski starts in goal for the Habs. dailyfaceoff.com Wed 3/5/14 7:56 PM

Tonight will mark Tokarski's Canadiens debut. He has not started an NHL game since the 2011-12 season when he was with the Lightning. Tokarski has gone 17-13-2 with a 2.34 GAA and .919 SV% with the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL). His Habs debut could be ugly as he gets the nod vs. the Ducks on the road.

The original plan was for Peter Budaj to get the start for the Habs, but Tokarski was the first goalie off of the ice this morning. The goalie who leaves the ice first usually indicates the starter, so we will assume Tokarski gets the start until there is confirmation.

Carey Price is out for the next two games with a lower-body injury, so Tokarski has been recalled to serve as Peter Budaj's backup tonight vs. Detroit and could potentially draw the start tomorrow in Pittsburgh. Tokarski is 17-13-2 with a 2.34 GAA and .919 SV% in 34 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs this season.

This is an AHL trade. Tokarski is 18-8-4 with a 2.46 GAA and .900 SV% this season in the AHL. Tokarski could be moved up to the NHL to backup Carey Price should Peter Budaj continue to struggle.
