Setoguchi had previously left Saturday's game against the Panthers with the injury, but it apparently wasn't serious enough to force him out of further action. The veteran winger hasn't been a beneficiary of the Flames' surprisingly strong start to the season, as he's failed to provide a point while going minus-7 over 10 games.

Since being held out of a Sept. 22 practice with the injury, Setoguchi has made appearances in two preseason games, suggesting he's back to full health. Setoguchi is set to play in the Flames' exhibition finale Saturday, skating on a line with Jiri Hudler and Matt Stajan.

The seven-year veteran has amassed 127 goals and 122 assists in his career. It's a fairly low-risk move for Calgary, which can let go of Setoguchi after next season if he fails to regain the offensive touch that led to three straight 20-plus goal seasons with the Sharks.
