Rasmussen was placed on unconditional waivers by the Ducks on Monday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
If unclaimed, Rasmussen's contract will be terminated, which will free him up to either sign with another club or return to his native Sweden. The winger doesn't appear to want to stay in the minors any longer, instead preferring European competition. It seems unlikely the 27-year-old will get another shot in the NHL if he doesn't find a landing spot this time around.

Rasmussen was waived by the Ducks on Thursday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Ducks put Rasmussen in the press box for the past five games before rendering him fully expendable. The shutdown defenseman has only averaged 8:54 of ice time this season, which happens to be an extremely low amount for a player of his position. It's safe to leave him on the virtual waiver wire.

Rasmussen recorded an assist through just 8:20 of ice time during Friday's 4-2 loss to Columbus.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old forward has been a healthy scratch in two of the past four games and is averaging just 8:59 of ice time per contest for the campaign. Additionally, Rasmussen has recorded only nine goals and 21 points through 133 games over the past three years. As a result, he's off the fantasy radar in the majority of settings.

Rasmussen has recorded only a goal and an assist through 15 games this season.
EDGE Analysis
Injuries have forced Rasmussen into a regular role with the Ducks, but he's not suited to play meaningful minutes or be relied on for offensive contributions. The 27-year-old Swede is serviceable depth player, so he'll likely remain a fixture in the Anaheim lineup, but that doesn't mean he warrants fantasy attention.

Rasmussen hasn't registered a point through the first six games of the season.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old Swede suited up for 112 games and posted 17 points with Chicago over the past two seasons, so offense clearly isn't his calling card. Rasmussen projects to remain in a bottom-six role and mark the scoresheet sparingly.

Rasmussen inked a one-year contract with Anaheim on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Rasmussen was held to just eight points in his 68 appearances for the Blackhawks last season while averaging 11:50 of ice time. Given his minimal production, the winger could struggle to earn minutes with the Ducks -- limiting his fantasy value to the point fantasy owners in even the deepest leagues may want to pass on him.

The Blackhawks didn't extend Rasmussen a qualifying offer, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rasmussen will thus become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and it appears as though his time with the Blackhawks has almost certainly come to an end. This development comes as a bit of a surprise, as Chicago could've undoubtedly made use of the 26-year-old forward's versatility and penalty-killing ability next season. Rasmussen only tallied eight points (four goals, four assists) in 68 games with the 'Hawks last season, so he won't be a desirable option in season-long formats in 2017-18, regardless of where he ends up.

Rasmussen will make his first career postseason start in Game 2 against Nashville on Saturday, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rasmussen recorded four goals, eight points, and averaged 11:50 of ice time in 68 games for Chicago this season. He also chipped in 61 hits and 49 blocked shots. Don't expect much offensively out of the big winger; he mainly plays a depth forward role.

Rasmussen (illness) could play Thursday against the Jets, but will rest instead, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rasmussen has been under the weather since Tuesday, so the Blackhawks are opting to give him some extra rest ahead of the impending All-Star break to ensure he's ready to go Tuesday against San Jose. The big-bodied forward is a decent bottom-six contributor and penalty killer for the Blackhawks, but his meager offensive production -- seven points in 47 games this season -- keeps him off the fantasy radar in most formats.

Rasmussen (illness) was not available for the start of practice Wednesday, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
At this time, it's not clear if the second-year winger will be a late addition to practice, but we wouldn't bet on that happening since he felt ill coming into Tuesday's contest against the Lightning -- he ended up logging 11:03 of ice time with three shots on goal, two hits and a blocked shot in that one, but the Blackhawks could always let him rest ahead of Thursday's clash with the Jets.
