Cody McLeod could be facing a suspension for his dangerous hit on Detroit's Niklas Kronwall on Thursday night. He was assessed a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct on the play. Kronwall suffered a concussion and cuts to his right ear from the hit.

Cody McLeod is expected to be available to play Tuesday against the Dallas Stars after blocking a shot by Alex Ovechkin off the side of his knee Saturday. He had some trouble walking after the game and logged just 5:03 of ice time. He tried to return in the third period, but felt his leg give out on him. "Luckily nothing broken, just a bruise," he said. "All the X-rays were negative."

Cody McLeod will probably return to Colorado's third or fourth line this season. He enjoyed some offensive success last season when he played alongside Ryan O'Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog, but with Steve Downie slated to return and Nathan MacKinnon expected to be in the fold he will likely return to serving as a role player. He will probably be a good source of penalty minutes this year and he could move up the roster again if injuries occur.

Cody McLeod potted Colorado's only goal in a 3-1 loss to St. Louis Tuesday night. His eighth tally of the season and his fifth in his last five games was assisted by Paul Stastny and Greg Zanon.

Cody McLeod has three goals in his last two games. McLeod hasn't spent any time in the sin bin this month, which is typically the principal source of his value in fantasy leagues. Obviously his recent offensive outburst helps, but we don't expect it to continue.

Left winger Cody McLeod scored two goals but he and the Avalanche dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the soaring Columbus Blue Jackets in Colorado Monday night. McLeod now has six goals this season. Jamie McGinn also scored for the Avs, his ninth of the season.

Cody McLeod will play Thursday night against Minnesota. He received a cross check to the ribs Monday, but is fine and available to suit up for Colorado.

Cody McLeod sustained an undisclosed injury during Monday's game. McLeod had two points and 37 penalty minutes in 11 games this season. The Avalanche are expected to provide an injury update on Wednesday.

The Avalanche re-signed Cody McLeod to a three-year, $3.5 million deal. With six goals and 11 points, the physical forward doesn't do too much in the scoring department but he is good for accumulating penalty minutes, as he amassed 164 of them this year. McLeod was due to be an unrestricted free agent. He made $1.2 million this past season.

Don't be surprised if Cody McLeod is traded to the Canucks. Vancouver could be looking for an agitator, and with Steve Downie on board, the Avs may be able to spare McLeod. It is also not secret that Canuck GM Mike Gillis is a fan of the Colorado pest.
