Clay Wilson was signed by CAL on Friday January 18.

Clay Wilson has signed with the KHL's Donbass Donetsk. Wilson is still under contract with the Calgary Flames, but the odds were against him making the team. He had 16 goals and 43 points in 66 AHL games this season.

Clay Wilson is still hoping to earn a permanent spot in the NHL, even though the odds are against him. Wilson recently turned 29 and he's only played in 36 career NHL contests. The odds of him ever being anything more than an injury replacement at the NHL aren't great, but he hasn't given up. "I'm just going to keep on trying," Wilson said. "Hopefully, I'll find a niche, an opportunity where I'm needed." The one thing Wilson has going for him is that his contract becomes one-way in 2012-13, which means he'll get paid $525,000 even if plays in the AHL.

Clay Wilson has been sent down to the minors. Wilson is expected to report to the AHL Abbotsford Heat. He has no points in five games with the Flames this season.

Clay Wilson has been summoned by the Calgary Flames. Wilson has 14 goals and 39 points in 60 games with the AHL Abbotsford Heat. He doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues.

The Flames sent Clay Wilson back to Abbotsford of the AHL. It looks as if Scott Hannan and/or Brett Carson will be healthy enough to play Tuesday against San Jose.

Clay Wilson might be sent to the minors on Thursday. Mark Giordano (leg) is very close to returning, but the Flames will need to free up a roster spot if they want to activate Giordano off of the injured reserve list. They'd probably do that by demoting Wilson, who has no points in two games with Calgary this season.

Clay Wilson spent Sunday's game in the press box. With Derek Smith out due to a high ankle sprain, Wilson is expected to spend the next month or so serving as the team's seventh blueliner. That's not a job that will make him appealing to fantasy owners, but it is a great opportunity for Wilson, who will turn 29 in April. Wilson is known for his offensive abilities at the AHL level, but he isn't expected to get much playing time with Calgary.
