Chris Thorburn registered his first goal of the season in Tuesday's loss to Nashville. He moved up to a line with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler in the contest because Evander Kane is out of action due to an infected hand. Thorburn has eight points and 86 hits in 45 games.

Chris Thorburn contributed two assists in Winnipeg's 5-2 win over the New York Rangers on Monday night. Thorburn was elevated to a line with Olli Jokinen and Devin Setoguchi in the contest because of Evander Kane's lower-body injury. "He's a veteran player," Jokinen said. "He's been in the league for a long time. He's a good player. He keeps the game simple. He's good in corners, an easy guy to play with. He was telling me before the game, to just make sure the puck goes to his corner that he's going to go get it. He was doing that. He was easy to play with." The newly-formed trio led the Jets to victory by combining for seven points.
