Thorburn was waived by the Blues on Sunday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
St. Louis acquired Nikita Soshnikov (lower body) from the Maple Leafs on Feb. 15, and he's since been activated from injured reserve. As a result, Thorburn has been deemed expendable. After all, the depth winger only has four assists representing his point total through 33 games at hockey's highest level this season. It's safe to pass over him in the fantasy realm.

Thorburn is suiting up for Sunday's game against the Capitals, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran enforcer hasn't played since Dec. 29 against the Stars, and the Blues are looking to shake things up after getting beat 6-3 by the Flyers on Saturday. Thorburn's physical play -- 43 hits and three fights through 23 games -- could be the spark in the second half of back-to-back matchups for the Blues.

Thorburn has been scratched in five of the Blues' previous six contests.
EDGE Analysis
Even when Thorburn does crack the lineup, he has logged a mere 7:42 of ice time in his 18 appearances. As a result, the winger's limited opportunities have resulted in him notching a mere three helpers on the season. Barring a run of injuries, the veteran will likely continue to watch from the press box on a regular basis.

Thorburn recorded two hits and one blocked shots in Saturday's 6-4 victory over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
This was only Thorburn's sixth game of the season he's played in, and he's still been held without a point thus far -- in fact, the last point he notched was Jan. 18 during last season's tilt against Winnipeg. The 34-year-old will likely continue splitting games between the bench and fourth line, and will try for his first point of the 2017-18 season Tuesday against New Jersey.

Thorburn signed a two-year contract with the Blues on Saturday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues make Thorburn's third team in 10 days. He was traded by the Jets to the expansion Golden Knights in order to prevent Las Vegas from selecting defenseman Toby Enstrom. When Thorburn's three-year contract expired Friday, he became a free agent and the Blues pounced. In Thorburn, they get a slightly cheaper version of Ryan Reaves, who the Blues traded to the Penguins a week ago. Thorburn should fit nicely on the right wing of the fourth line, serving a role as the the team's energy-enforcer.

Thorburn has been selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL Expansion Draft, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
EDGE Analysis
In addition to selecting Thorburn, Vegas and Winnipeg are expected to flop draft picks on Friday, although the details of that are yet to be announced. Thorburn is a serviceable role player, but he is limited offensively and brings little to the table other than toughness. The big get here for the Golden Knights will be mentioned in the forthcoming deal.

Thorburn is back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch in four consecutive outings, but is averaging just 5:55 of ice time per night.
EDGE Analysis
Unsurprisingly, Thorburn has not scored since Dec. 11 and has just four total points on the year. A season average of 7:11 per game, the winger has been seeing even fewer opportunities to get on the scoresheet. The 33-year-old is what he is, a gritty veteran that will primarily be on the ice to give his teammates a chance to rest and fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to be anything else.

Thorburn, benefiting from a handful of injuries, has suited up in 10 consecutive matchups for the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Even though Thorburn is in the lineup, he still isn't getting on the ice much as he is averaging a paltry 5:32 of ice time over this stretch in the game-day roster. Unsurprisingly, the winger has managed just one helper, seven PIM, and 13 hits in his limited opportunities. Unless he can start contributing offensively, the 33-year-old will likely head back to the press box once Mathieu Perreault (upper body) and Drew Stafford (lower leg) are healthy enough to play.

Thorburn recorded his third goal of the season against the Oilers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Thorburn absolutely rifled the puck past netminder Cam Talbot, but the Jets were unable to maintain the lead, failing 3-2. The 33-year-old Thorburn is certainly capitalizing on his limited opportunities as he has tallied a pair of goals in his last six contests, despite averaging a mere 8:03 of ice time. Unless he can secure more consistent game action, something that is likely a long shot, the winger will continue to offer limited fantasy value.

Thorburn saw just 6:42 of ice time against the Predators on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Despite appearing in 19 games this season, Thorburn is rarely on the ice with a season average of 8:28 per night. In the 33-year-old's limited action, he has managed just one goal, 27 PIM, and has a minus-1 rating. It seems the winger has secured a regular spot in the lineup, but should probably be left off your fantasy roster.
