Brian McGrattan returned to action on Monday March 3.

Brian McGrattan has been cleared for contact after suffering an upper body injury during practice. The injury happened last week. McGrattan did not play on Saturday but could be close to returning to action. He has a goal and three points with 95 penalty minutes in 54 games this season.

Brian McGrattan (upper body) will not be in the lineup for Calgary when the Flames meet the Edmonton Oilers tonight. "He's getting better but it's still painful," Calgary coach Bob Hartley said about an upper-body injury McGrattan suffered in practice last week. "Too painful to play. You see him skate, you see him shoot, but at the same time he's not ready to go"

Brian McGrattan (upper body) rejoined the Flames for Wednesday's practice. McGrattan was wearing a no-contact jersey. He's probably still a few days away from returning and won't be available on Thursday.

Brian McGrattan (upper body) was able to skate before practice on Sunday. McGrattan was injured during the Flames first practice after the break on Thursday when he was slammed into the boards head first. It's a good sign that he was able to skate as the injury looked serious at the time. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Forward Brian McGrattan slammed into the boards head-first when the Calgary Flames returned to practice on Thursday. Eventually, the Flames' tough guy gingerly glided off under his own power, but the Calgary Sun said it didn't look good. We'll keep you posted.

Brian McGrattan is hurt after blocking a shot on Wednesday. McGrattan will miss Friday's game against Nashville as a result. He has three points and 93 penalty minutes in 48 contests this season.

Brian McGrattan compiled 20 penalty minutes in Sunday's game versus Vancouver. He was assessed a five-minute major for elbowing, five minutes for fighting and a game misconduct just 2:43 into the first period. The Flames managed to kill of the penalty, but they still lost 2-0.

Brian McGrattan returned to action on Saturday December 7.
