Prust continued his offensive renaissance with an assist in his third straight game Tuesday against Los Angeles.
EDGE Analysis
Known for his propensity to drop the gloves, Prust has become a consistent offensive contributor in his new home in Vancouver, at least for now. It would be foolish to expect this to last, as Prust will forever be a fourth-line enforcer, but he does have value in leagues that reward PIMs.

The Canucks traded Zack Kassian and a fifth-round draft pick to the Canadiens on Wednesday in exchange for Prust, TSN.ca reports. Prust, who scored four goals and added 14 assists for the Habs in 82 games this past season, will give the Canucks some added grit up front, while retaining some value in PIM-friendly fantasy formats. In 451 career NHL contests, he's racked up 977 penalty minutes.

Prust was assessed 31 minutes in penalites in Sunday's 6-2 loss in Game 2 to the Lightning. Prust started his day in the sin bin with a first-period roughing penalty that got bumped up to four minutes with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Later, he ran Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop behind the net that incited a melee and several more infractions were charged to him. None of the penalties cost Montreal a goal, but Prust was the poster boy for the team's undisciplined play in the Game 2 loss.

Prust picked up the game-winning goal Wednesday, as the Canadiens edged the Senators by a final score of 4-3 in Game 1. Prust's goal contributed to his plus-2 rating in the contest. The Canadian forward is no stranger to postseason play, having made it to the playoffs each year since 2010-11, between the Rangers and Habs.

Prust handed out two assists -- one shorthanded -- Tuesday in a 3-2 win over Florida. So ends a nine-game skid for Prust, who now has 16 points on the season. As usual, his main value lies in penalty minutes -- he's spent a bit more than two full hours in the sin bin this season.

Prust (illness) participated in the Habs' morning skate, but his status for Saturday's game against the Devils remains unknown, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Prust took part in line rushes as a member of the fourth trio, which would seemingly indicate that he's ready to play. However, the Canadiens could exercise some precaution and give him another night off to recover from the flu, which knocked him out of Friday's practice. Expect his status to be more clearly discerned during pregame warmups.

Prust earned an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Stars. The 30-year-old logged 14:57 TOI in the win, his highest total in seven games. Prust is one of the top agitators on the Habs' roster with 85 PIM on the season, but his meager point totals at the forward spot don't make him relevant in most formats.

Prust scored a goal in Saturday night's 4-1 win over the Senators. He was elevated to the second line for the game and had 17:36 of ice time. Prust, normally a fourth-liner, has been skating on the third and second lines lately. And he's taking advantage of his ice time with more skilled forwards. He has points in three of the last four games.
