Rome left Monday's exhibition with a lower-body injury, Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News reports. Rome is attending Red Wings camp on a professional tryout basis, so the injury could end his bid for a roster spot. He's not likely to serve as anything more than the team's seventh defenseman if he manages to make the squad.

Aaron Rome has successfully cleared waivers. With that done, the Dallas Stars have bought out the final season of Rome's three-year, $4.5 million contract. He had an assist in 25 games in 2013-14.
