Saunders was waived by the Colts on Tuesday, Mike Chappell of RTV 6 in Indianapolis reports. Saunders was signed two weeks ago as insurance with Dwayne Allen sidelined with an ankle injury. Allen is expected back this week after missing three games, so Saunders has become expendable. Indianapolis signed tackle Andrew McDonald to take Saunders' roster spot.

Listed at 6'6/273 with outstanding athleticism, Saunders looks like former Steelers Pro Bowler Eric Green coming off the bus. Saunders' below-average college production and character concerns are red flags, but he landed in a rock-solid organization with an excellent coaching staff. He's merely a developmental project at this point.
