Rams coach Jeff Fisher did not get into specifics when discussing why the team waived WR Titus Young on Friday. "We spent probably four or five days with him," said Fisher. "At the end of the interview process, we decided it was best for us to go another direction. Perhaps Titus is better suited for another organization." Fisher did say the Rams put Young through an "extended interview process." Unsurprisingly, Young's interviews were unimpressive. He's likely to clear waivers now.

Rams waived WR Titus Young. The topic is expected to be addressed at a Jeff Fisher news conference Friday to introduce new defensive coordinator Tim Walton. Young's history of genuinely idiotic and self-destructive behavior makes his nine-day "stint" in St. Louis a non-surprise. Young is just 23 years old and brimming with talent, but it's beginning to look less and less likely that he'll be playing NFL snaps anytime soon without some sort of a significant wakeup call.

The Rams have declined comment on rumors Titus Young will be released on Friday. Detroit-based writer Rob Parker reported Friday morning Young will be waived on Friday, though both the Rams and Young's agent have declined comment. The fact that neither side opted to shoot down the report strongly suggests Young's time in St. Louis will last all of 10 days. If that's indeed the case, it's an extremely bad sign for the troubled receiver's NFL future.

Lions GM Martin Mathew says he didn't try to trade Titus Young before waiving him because he had "no trade value." Mathew's claim is hardly surprising, and backed up by the fact that the Rams were the only team to place a waiver claim on the mercurial third-year pro. Mayhew says he doesn't have any regrets about selecting Young in the second round of the 2011 draft despite his well-documented character issues in college. "We made a big investment in him, didn't work out, move on." Rams coach Jeff Fisher has a history of getting the most out of malcontents, but Young is going to be his biggest challenge yet.

The Rams were the only team that put in a waiver claim on Titus Young. Perhaps this will humble the man that thinks he's better than Calvin Johnson. The Rams inherit Young's relatively meager $555,000 2013 base salary and $185,000 roster bonus, making it a low-risk, high-reward kind of move. It also gives them some talented depth with Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson set to become free agents in March.

The Cowboys are not expected to put in a waiver claim for former Lions WR Titus Young. The news comes via DallasCowboys.com's Bryan Broaddus, who is very plugged into the Cowboys' intentions. Young might be considered by Dallas if he clears waivers and avoids offseason trouble ahead of training camp, but the Cowboys won't put in a claim. We tentatively expect no teams to claim Young off waivers.

Titus Young was back at the keyboard on Friday morning and said, "Oh I'm not done, if y'all going to cut me let me go. I'm tired of the threats." "Never needed the money Give me a dollar and a ball bet I come back #HallofFame," Young added. This comes on the heels of a Tuesday rant on Twitter where Young threatened to quit if he didn't get the ball anymore. Head coach Jim Schwartz commented on the matter on Wednesday by saying, "You wear your uniform 24 hours a day now, everybody's aware of that. We obviously still got some ground to cover there." This may be the straw that ends up breaking the camel's back for Young in Detroit, and he may actually be fine with that.
