Three charges have been added to free agent Titus Young's Orange County Superior Court count, bringing the total to 11. The new counts were undisclosed, but are related to Young's alleged May 11 burglary of a southern California home. His bail was upped from $25,000 to $50,000, as the judge deemed Young "a danger to the community." Young appeared in court Friday morning behind a protective cage, dressed in inmate orange. The judge asked him three questions and he didn't reply to any of them.

In addition to the eight pending charges he is facing, Titus Young has been accused of domestic violence by the mother of his 9-month-old son. The woman has taken out a temporary restraining order, and is seeking a permanent one. "He would say things like, 'I understand why O.J. killed his wife,'" the woman alleged in a court filing. She also revealed that Young has been "clinically diagnosed with a mental disorder." Things are going to get worse before they get better for the troubled Young.

Free agent Titus Young has been medically cleared to appear in court, and has been charged with felony theft stemming from a May 4 incident at a convenience store in addition to his other charges. It means Young has been charged with an incomprehensible eight crimes - including three felonies - in the past 10 days. It's a disturbing unraveling for a player who was always billed as a head-case but had previously avoided run-ins with the law during his NFL career. His only previous arrest was for minor in possession of alcohol during his college days. Clearly dealing with serious brain/mental issues, Young will hopefully get the help he needs.

Free agent Titus Young's father says his son has a brain disorder and needs help. Ya think? Richard Young took Titus out for coffee on Friday morning, mere hours before Titus' latest arrest. Titus then drove off in his car without saying goodbye. "We knew that something had happened to him or he was locked up again," Richard said. "His mind is not capable enough to go out and deal with society because of this situation." Titus supposedly suffers from a disorder caused by his brain being compressed against the front of his skull, and he hasn't been taking his prescribed medication. Doctors told Richard that treatment could take six months or less. Maybe the sun will finally shine on Titus, and he can get the help he so badly needs.

Ex-Lions WR Titus Young was arrested and charged with burglary, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest Friday night in San Clemente, CA. That's three arrests in less than a week for Young, who appears to be trying to keep pace with ex-Oregon CB Cliff Harris. Young is still stewing in jail after the arrest. He reportedly broke into a home, and then tried fighting the officers. Young was arrested twice in a 15-hour period last Sunday for drunk driving and then trying to steal his impounded car from a towing company's lot. He won't be seeing an NFL field anytime soon.

Titus Young's high school coach said he wishes the former Lion would "get some help." E.C. Robinson said he hasn't spoken to Young since late March and hoped he was in an institute. "He was talking some things that just didn't make sense," Robinson said of the last time the two conversed. "I don't know, I just wish he'd get some help. I know football is probably out of the question, right now it's trying to get his life together." Young was arrested twice in a 15-hour span Sunday.

Free agent WR Titus Young was arrested twice in 15 hours last Sunday. The troubled ex-Lion was busted for drunk driving at 12:01 Sunday morning in Moreno Valley, Cal. He was then arrested again 15 hours later after he was caught trying to steal his impounded Mustang from a tow-company lot. It's the exact kind of confounding, short-sighted behavior that earned Young his walking papers from the Lions less than two years after he was a second-round pick. Young needs to get serious help before his life spirals completely out of control.

Lions GM Martin Mayhew says he's reached out to help troubled free agent Titus Young, but that the door on a possible return to Detroit "is shut." Mayhew has been in contact with Young "and his family." Mayhew's comments suggest Young is dealing with legitimate mental problems, which appeared to be the case during his bizarre on- and off-the-field meltdown last season. Young surely isn't pleased about being on the open market, but some time away from the game may be necessary to save his career.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz says he wasn't consulted by friend and mentor Jeff Fisher before the Rams waived former Lion Titus Young. It means the two men both independently decided they couldn't have Young on their football teams. That's very bad news for Young's future, as Schwartz and Fisher are two of the league's more willing coaches to take on players with character concerns. Young's phone may not ring for a while.

Titus Young passed through waivers unclaimed, and is now an unrestricted free agent. Hopefully he's not expecting any calls, because it could be a while before his phone rings. Young's talent should eventually earn him a third chance, but he'll have to go to great lengths to rehab a reputation he's torn to shreds. It might be a long time before we hear Young's name again. That is, provided none of his former coaches decide to take shots at him.
