Williams has requested his release from the Giants in order to deal with a family health issue, Herbie Teope of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams hopes to play for the Giants at some point during the 2018 regular season, but the conrerback doesn't want to tie up a roster spot as he tends to a family health matter. It's a mature move by the NFL journeyman, who has played for five different teams through five years in the league.

Williams signed a one-year, $880,000 contract with the Giants on Thursday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams spent all of 2017 on injured reserve with a shoulder injury and played just three games in 2016. He'll likely only see time as a backup as long as he's with the club, unless a rash of injuries to the position forced him into a larger role.

Williams has signed a one-year contract to remain with the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Williams played in just three games before suffering a season-ending knee injury last season, but the time off since he landed on IR in October should allow him to be ready for the 2017 campaign, when he figures to mostly factor in on special teams.

Williams (groin) returned to practice on Sunday, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has been sidelined for more than a week now with a groin injury, but appears to be back to full strength and ready to return to the field. He's slated to be a depth option at cornerback during the upcoming season and should get his last preseason opportunity to prove his worth during the Panthers' finale versus the Steelers on Sept. 1.

Williams (groin) is not in uniform for Carolina's second preseason game Saturday, Max Henson of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite appearing in 16 games for the Panthers last season, Williams struggled to make his presence felt recording just 13 combined tackles. However, thanks to the abrupt offseason departure of Josh Norman, Williams' name has surfaced a possible replacement for Carolina's ailing secondary. If the former track star is not able to get healthy soon, he could see his opportunity slip.

Williams signed a two-year deal with the Panthers on Thursday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports. A former sprinter who didn't even play football in college, Williams has attempted to play both cornerback and wide receiver. He seems to have settled in as a cornerback, but his main contribution for the Panthers will likely come on special teams.

The Cardinals are moving WR Teddy Williams back to cornerback. A 2010 undrafted free agent, Williams entered the NFL as a receiver out of Texas-San Antonio, but converted to corner for the Colts in 2012. He moved back to wideout for Arizona last season, but landed on injured reserve with a torn Achilles' tendon in November. Whatever his position, Williams will be a long-shot to crack the 53-man roster.
