Brooks (hamstring) was cut by the Eagles on Wednesday, Dave Zangaro of CSN Philly reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a tough, tough break for Brooks who looked like he was on the cusp of carving a meaningful role with the defense this season. Despite his many highs early in camp, Brooks has had a riddled injury history that has limited his availability during his NFL tenure. With the hamstring issue taking longer than the Eagles would like, the team opted to go ahead and move forward from Brooks having read this story before.

Brooks left Thursday's preseason opener against the Packers with a hamstring injury, Les Bowen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks, who is coming off a quad tear that ended his 2016 season, was injured on punt coverage and forced to leave the game immediately after. The severity of the injury is yet to be reported, but given that Brooks is already coming off season-ending surgery, the team will likely stay cautious with the cornerback.

Eagles' head coach Doug Pederson said Brooks is "obviously {the team's} nickel defender", Dave Zangaro of CSN Philly reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks is recovering from a ruptured quad tendon that required surgery and cost him the last ten games of 2016. Prior to suffering the injury, he had established himself as a starter at the position, but now he will have to surpass Jalen Mills, Patrick Robinson or Rasul Douglas if he wants to see many snaps beyond the nickel package this year.

Brooks suffered a ruptured quadriceps tendon during Sunday's game against the Vikings and will consequently require season-ending surgery, The Philadelphia Inquirer's Les Bowen reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks went down after attempting to make a tackle during the first quarter Sunday. With his injury requiring surgery, Brooks is expected to land on injured reserve soon, opening a roster spot for the Eagles. After signing with Philadelphia this offseason, Brooks' familiarity with coordinator Jim Schwartz's defensive scheme, as well as fellow cornerback Leodis McKelvin's previous hamstring injury, resulted in Brooks starting five out of six games thus far. While McKelvin's return to health should help make up for Brooks' absence, C.J. Smith or Terrence Brooks could be activated to boost the Eagles' secondary going forward.

Brooks will not return to Sunday's game after suffering a right knee injury.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks injured his knee in the first half of Sunday's game and was carted off the field with his right knee wrapped. It's unclear what the specifics of the injury are at this point. Jalen Mills figures to see extra snaps while Brooks is out.

Brooks (calf) is active for Sunday's Week 7 matchup with the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks started in place of an injured Leodis McKelvin (hamstring) last week and picked up a calf injury of his own, but it doesn't look to be a major issue after he was able to log a full practice Friday. However, with McKelvin active for the contest, Brooks could end up settling back into a bench role.

Brooks (calf) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks, the Eagles' top nickel back, wasn't known to be dealing with injury. However, he practiced in full on Friday and appears likely to suit up.

Brooks will receive a start at cornerback Sunday against the Redskins, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leodis McKelvin (hamstring) is inactive for the contest, affording Brooks the opportunity to see extended snaps in Week 6. He's collected nine tackles and has recovered a fumble through his first four games of the season.

Brooks (neck) will compete with Norman Carroll for the starting job opposite newly-acquired Leodis McKelvin, NJ.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks ended the 2015 campaign on IR after dealing with neck, shoulder and head injuries during the season. However, his main competition, Norman Carroll, is also coming off an injury-ravaged season as well. Fellow CB Eric Rowe also figures to be in on the competition, but offseason reviews suggest he isn't a realistic candidate to start. Conceivably, as both Brooks and Carroll enter training camp after an offseason of rehab, this competition could come down to the last man standing should either player suffer a setback.

Brooks (neck) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Neck and shoulder issues cost Brooks time recently, even forcing him into the concussion protocol, though it's not entirely clear whether his placement on IR is related or due to a new injury. Brooks played primarily on special teams this season, recording 12 total tackles (11 solo).
