Geathers was released by the Bengals on Friday. A Bengal for the first 10 years of his career, Geathers oddly piled up 10.5 sacks in 2006, but he has otherwise never topped 3.5 in a season. While he once had a reputation as a solid run defender, the 31-year-old Geathers will likely need to compete for a roster spot in 2015, assuming he wants to keep playing.

Geathers (shoulder) is active for Thursday's game against the Browns, ESPN reports. Geathers approached Thursday's contest as questionable, but apparently his sore shoulder will not prevent him from suiting up. The defensive end will add depth to the Bengals' front-seven.

Geathers (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Browns, the Bengals' official site reports. With 13 tackles and a sack in eight games to date, Geathers' Week 10 status is of more import to the Bengals' DE depth than it is to fantasy owners.

Geathers (shoulder) was a limited participant in Monday's practice, Richard Skinner of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Geathers is dealing with a shoulder injury, and his status for Thursday's game against the Browns could be in jeopardy.

Bengals placed DE Robert Geathers on injured reserve with an elbow injury, ending his season. Geathers, the Bengals' longest-tenured player at ten years, didn't record a tackle in two games played this season. He was demoted to No. 3 end duties with Carlos Dunlap taking over at left end. Wallace Gilberry will vault up the depth chart, while Devon Still and Margus Hunt could see some time on the edge.

The Bengals are "preparing to hear the worst" on DE Robert Geathers (elbow). Geathers injured his arm in Monday night's Week 2 win over the Steelers. He's expected to be placed on season-ending injured reserve. Wallace Gilberry will take over as the No. 3 end. Rookie Margus Hunt may now be active on game days.

Bengals DE Robert Geathers exited Monday night's Week 2 game against the Steelers with an elbow injury and will not return. Geathers is the Bengals' longest-tenured player as a ten-year veteran. After starting all 16 games last season, Geathers has been jumped by Carlos Dunlap for the starting left end job. Geathers is a rotational player.

Bengals re-signed LE Robert Geathers. Cincinnati is keeping the band together. Geathers, the team's longest tenured player, chipped in three sacks last season and was a solid run defender while starting every game. He and fourth-year DE Carlos Dunlap will likely compete for the starting job this summer.

Bengals.com says the team "would like to strike a deal" with free agent DE Robert Geathers. Cincinnati is trying to keep their No. 3-ranked pass rush group together, and they've already franchised Michael Johnson and re-signed Wallace Gilberry. Geathers, 29, is the Bengals' longest-tenured player, and he started all 16 games in 2012, registering three sacks.

Bengals LE Robert Geathers (knee) participated in practice on Monday and looks set to play next Monday night. "It's time to go... I should be fine," said Geathers. The bigger news, though, is that starting LE Carlos Dunlap (knee) didn't suit up on Monday and looks iffy for the Ravens. If Dunlap were to miss, Geathers, rookie DT Devon Still, Jamaal Anderson, and LB Manny Lawson would play in a rotation of sorts. Joe Flacco already has a juicy matchup against Cincinnati's secondary, and not having to worry about Dunlap would be even better.
