Lions OC Scott Linehan reiterated that Joique Bell will take on a bigger role going forward. "Him rattling off really the three explosive runs that weƒ?Tve had this year certainly gives him more opportunities I think in our offense, not just in the games," Linehan said of Bell. "I think you'll see him playing a little bit more throughout the game." It could be a blow to the value of Mikel Leshoure, whose fantasy production has been propped up by short touchdowns the past five weeks.

Mikel Leshoure rushed 21 times for 57 yards with a touchdown and added two catches for 16 yards in the Lions' Week 13 loss to the Colts. Leshoure's touchdown was of the standard variety as he took a handoff from Matthew Stafford at the six-yard line and bounced his way over the line. He now has seven touchdowns on the year and six in his last five games, but the inability to churn up yardage is concerning. Leshoure is averaging a mere 3.76 YPC. He's a RB2 candidate against the Packers next week simply because he's the goal-line back in a high-scoring offense.

Mikel Leshoure (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts, as expected. Leshoure gave owners an early-week scare when he missed Wednesday's practice, but it turned out to be a mere precaution. Expect his usual 12-15 carries plus goal-line work against a Colts' defense giving up 4.77 yards per carry. DT Corey Williams (knee) is also active, but he'll come off the bench behind Nick Fairley. Titus Young is inactive, as expected. Ryan Broyles draws another the start. The rest of the Lions' inactives: QB Kellen Moore, CB Jonte Green, T Jason Fox, T Corey Hilliard, WR Brian Robiskie and DE Ronnell Lewis.

Mikel Leshoure (ankle) was limited in Friday's practice, but is listed as probable for Week 13 against the Colts. The Lions are typically liberal with their usage of questionable tags, so the fact that they assigned "probable" to Leshoure indicates that they have no worries about his ankle. Start him as a confident RB2 against Indianapolis.

Mikel Leshoure (ankle) returned to practice Thursday. Disaster averted. The Lions won't be releasing any details on Leshoure's injury thanks to their CIA-style attitude on information, but it now looks like he sat out Wednesday's practice as a precaution. Perhaps he merely sustained a Grade 1 tweak in the Thanksgiving loss to the Texans, causing him to sit out overtime. Provided Leshoure gets in another practice on Friday, he'll be in line for his usual 12-15 carries and goal-line work against the Colts Sunday. The power back has five touchdowns in his last four games.

Updating an earlier item, Mikel Leshoure missed Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury, not an illness.

Updating an earlier item, Mikel Leshoure missed Wednesday's practice with an illness. In other words, he should return on Thursday, and is in no danger of missing Sunday's game. Leshoure is averaging just 3.9 yards per carry, but has found the end zone five times in Detroit's past four games. As the clear cut goal-line back in a high-scoring offense, he's a strong weekly flex play.

Mikel Leshoure (undisclosed) did not practice Wednesday. Leshoure wasn't known to be injured during the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Texans, but he did not touch the ball in overtime. Joquie Bell got three carries. Considering the Lions have been off for six days since, it's a concern that Leshoure isn't practicing. Deep leaguers can add Bell as a flier while we await details.

Mikel Leshoure rushed 12 times for 32 yards with a touchdown in the Lions' Week 12 overtime loss to the Texans. On a 4th-and-one from the two-yard line in the first quarter, coach Jim Schwartz chose to leave his offense on the field. Leshoure battered his way into the end zone without a problem. It was his fifth touchdown in the last four weeks and the ninth straight game he's recorded double-digit carries. Leshoure will have a much easier time picking up yardage against the Colts in Week 13.

Mikel Leshoure is practicing in full this week. Leshoure limped off the field and did not return in the Lions' Week 8 win over the Seahawks. He briefly appeared on the injury report last week, but showed no signs of the injury against the Jaguars, racking up three first half touchdowns and 70 yards on 16 carries. Leshoure has a juicy Week 10 matchup against a Vikings team that has given up at least 100 yards and a score on the ground in each of their last three games.
