Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder surgery) is not expected to be medically cleared until the preseason is over. Jenkins is meeting with Dr. James Andrews this week, and the Cowboys will know more then. The organization's doctors, however, seem to believe Jenkins won't receive clearance until September at the soonest. Jenkins wants a trade out of Dallas, but he's not going to get one if he can't even pass a physical.

Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins will meet with Dr. James Andrews next week for an update on his shoulder surgery. Jenkins couldn't even throw a football overhand on Thursday, suggesting that his shoulder is in worse shape than the Cowboys have let on. He'll leave camp to meet with Dr. Andrews. Jenkins likely needs to clean bill of health to garner real interest on the trade market.

Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder surgery) opened training camp on the active/PUP list. There has been speculation that Dallas might stash Jenkins on reserve/PUP into the season, allowing his shoulder to fully heal and to have him available just before midyear. That obviously wouldn't go over well with Jenkins, but he has little leverage. We suspect he's still available for the right price.

Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins will report to training camp Wednesday, a source tells ESPN Dallas. Jenkins, unhappy with his contract, skipped voluntary workouts this offseason. He was placed on the trade block during the draft, but the Cowboys found no takers. Meanwhile, Jenkins hasn't been medically cleared for contact following shoulder surgery. Brandon Carr and rookie Morris Claiborne form the Cowboys' new starting corner tandem.

ESPN Dallas says Mike Jenkins it's possible that CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder surgery) starts the season on the reserve/PUP list. Perhaps Jenkins' rehab isn't going as well as the Cowboys have let on. He'll likely have to prove his health before any trade talks can get serious. If Jenkins does end up on the reserve/PUP list, he'll miss the first six games of the regular season.

One NFL personnel man told Pro Football Weekly that he believes Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins is still available for trade. "(The Cowboys) tried to trade him during the draft, and I think they're going to try again. (They'll) wait until camp when (other cornerbacks) start getting hurt. That would be my best guess," he said. Owner Jerry Jones has insisted that Jenkins won't be traded, but he has reportedly been difficult with his shoulder surgery recovery and his place on the team. We still think Jenkins will be traded prior to Week 1.

Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder surgery) is expected to begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list. Jenkins reportedly refused to share his medical records with the Cowboys, and isn't participating in offseason workouts while rehabbing. He's not currently a candidate for the regular season PUP, but any surgery is a concern. Jenkins projects as the starting nickel corner in Dallas when healthy.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins has not communicated with the team about his offseason shoulder surgery. Jenkins isn't participating in workouts while rehabbing, and the Cowboys feel in the dark. Coach Jason Garrett described Jenkins' shoulder as "a little complicated." Still unhappy with his role and paycheck, Jenkins could remain a problem into training camp. We still wouldn't rule out a pre-Week 1 trade.

Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones insisted Tuesday that disgruntled CB Mike Jenkins will not be traded this summer. "We're not going to trade Jenkins," Jones said. "I'm excited about the fact that we've got this kind of corner situation. We'll maximize it for our team and it gives us all the things we want at a position that's critical for us." Apparently going all-in this season, the Cowboys reportedly turned down four teams interested in acquiring Jenkins in the final year of his rookie contract.
