Glennon reverted to the Dolphins' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
EDGE Analysis
Glennon was brought up for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets with No. 1 quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) ruled out and Teddy Bridgewater (finger/knee) considered questionable to play. While the practice-squad quarterback was active, he never saw the field with rookie quarterback Skylar Thompson taking all 65 offensive snaps. Bridgewater was also ruled active pregame, so even if Tagovailoa remains sidelined for this coming Sunday's wild-card matchup versus Buffalo, it's unlikely Glennon will slot in as anything higher than the team's third-string quarterback.

Glennon was elevated to the Dolphins' active roster Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
At least for the moment, it appears as if rookie Skylar Thompson will get the start Sunday against the Jets, with Glennon possibly set to act as a backup with Teddy Bridgewater's (finger/knee) status still up in the air. Expect more clarification from the Dolphins prior to the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Miami is signing Glennon to the practice squad Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Glennon is inking with the Dolphins while Tua Tagovailoa remains in the concussion protocol and Teddy Bridgewater (finger) deals with a dislocated pinkie finger on his right hand. Coach Mike McDaniel suggested Tagovailoa will remain sidelined Week 18 versus the Jets, meaning if Bridgewater isn't available it would fall to rookie seventh-round pick Skylar Thompson to helm Miami's offense. In that scenario, Glennon could be tasked with handling backup duties.

The 49ers worked out Glennon for a potential backup QB role Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Glennon will have a shot to make San Francisco's roster, after the team's starting quarterback Trey Lance suffered a season-ending ankle injury Sunday against the Seahawks. The veteran last suited up for the Giants in 2021, where he played in six games (four starts) and amassed 790 yards, four touchdowns and 10 interceptions, all while completing 53.9 percent of his passes. Glennon underwent offseason wrist surgery, but his Tuesday workout suggests he's fully recovered from the injury. With Jimmy Garoppolo and Brock Purdy currently listed as the only other QBs on the team's roster, the 49ers are likely to bring in either Glennon, Kurt Benkert, AJ McCarron, Garrett Gilbert or Kevin Hogan, all of whom also worked out for the team Tuesday and could provide added depth for San Francisco.

Giants head coach Joe Judge said Monday that Glennon is dealing with a left wrist injury that will require season-ending surgery, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
After a one-game benching, Glennon reclaimed starting duties from Jake Fromm, who sputtered in his first extended NFL action in the Week 16 loss to the Eagles. Despite getting another crack at the job, Glennon dropped to 0-4 as a starter after he directed a listless Giants offense in Sunday's 29-3 loss to the Bears, completing only four of 11 pass attempts for 24 yards and two interceptions while taking four sacks and fumbling four times (losing two). The rotten outing likely would have prompted Judge to evaluate the quarterback situation heading into the Jan. 9 season finale versus Washington, but the injury to Glennon's non-throwing hand made the decision easy for the coach. Glennon is set to be a free agent this offseason and may have trouble latching on as a backup with any organization after finishing the season with a 53.9 percent completion rate, 4.7 YPA and 4:10 TD:INT across six appearances.

Glennon completed four of 11 passes for 24 yards and two interceptions in Sunday's 29-3 loss to Chicago. He added 13 yards on one rushing attempt and fumbled four times, losing two.
EDGE Analysis
Glennon struggled mightily for the banged-up Giants, and the team primarily kept the ball on the ground in the blowout loss. Even if Glennon is given the starting nod in Week 18 against Washington, his 4:10 TD:INT this season suggests it's best to avoid him in fantasy.

The Giants are planning to have Glennon start Sunday's game against the Bears, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
New York re-evaluated its quarterback situation for the second week in a row after Jake Fromm stepped in for his first career start last Sunday in place of the struggling Glennon, who went 0-3 while completing only 51 percent of his throws for 4.6 yards per attempt and 2:5 TD:INT during his three-game run after taking over for the injured Daniel Jones (neck). Though Fromm is nearly a decade younger than Glennon and offers more developmental upside, the 23-year-old did little to demonstrate he was an NFL-caliber quarterback in last week's loss to the Eagles, completing only six of 17 attempts for 25 yards and an interception before he was benched midway through the third quarter. Glennon took over thereafter and wasn't much better, completing 17 of 27 throws for 93 yards, a touchdown and an interception. That outing coupled with how he performed in practice this week looks like it'll be enough for Glennon to get another turn as the starter, with Raanan noting that the Giants don't intend to use him as part of a timeshare with Fromm. Even so, Glennon's prior production suggests he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a low-end lineup option in leagues that start two quarterbacks or have a superflex spot.

Glennon and Jake Fromm are both expected to see playing time Sunday against the Bears, Darryl Slater of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Glennon entered Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Eagles in the second half and completed 17 of 27 passes for 93 yards, a touchdown and an interception while rushing twice for 11 yards. Although the veteran was slightly more effective than Fromm, he wasn't able to make a significant impact in the Giants' offense. Coach Joe Judge said Wednesday that he'll determine the starting quarterback based on each player's performance in practice this week.

Glennon entered Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Eagles with 7:48 remaining in the third quarter for an ineffective Jake Fromm and completed 17 of 27 passes for 93 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed twice for 11 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Glennon ultimately didn't fare much better than his young teammate, averaging a minuscule 3.4 yards per attempt and managing to offer only a modest degree of fantasy value when he completed a meaningless nine-yard touchdown pass to Evan Engram with 3:50 remaining to cap off a marathon 17-play drive. Glennon was the more serviceable of the two Giants quarterbacks Sunday, but that won't necessarily guarantee him the start in a Week 17 visit to the Bears.

Glennon is set to move into a backup role Sunday against the Eagles with the Giants set to give Jake Fromm his first NFL start, sources tell Adam Schefter of ESPN.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Joe Judge wasn't willing to confirm the Giants' plans at quarterback following the team's final practice of the week Friday, but multiple reports heading into the weekend suggested the team would demote Glennon to the backup role after he went 0-3 while completing just 51 percent of his passes for 4.6 yards per attempt and a 2:5 TD:INT while starting in place of the injured Daniel Jones (neck). Though Jones has been ruled out for the season, the Giants have seemingly determined that the 32-year-old Glennon -- who is set to become a free agent this offseason -- isn't part of their future plans. The 23-year-old Fromm, on the other hand, offers more upside as a developmental option behind Jones heading into next season, even though he's unproven at the NFL level and has already been dropped by the organization (Buffalo) that drafted him in the fifth round in 2020.
