The Houston Texans signed free-agent offensive tackle Matt Kalil to an undisclosed deal on Friday. The former fourth overall pick in 2012 was cut from the Panthers a week ago. The 29-year-old made the Pro Bowl in his rookie season with the Vikings but has ended on Injured Reserve in two of the last three seasons. Kalil will likely battle for a starting spot at left tackle with his new organization.

The Carolina Panthers released left tackle Matt Kalil on Thursday. Kalil signed a five-year deal as a free agent just two years ago and he started all 16 games at left tackle in his first year before spending all of 2018 on Injured Reserve with a knee injury.
