Benard signed with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. With Matt Shaughnessy (knee) landing on injured reserve/designated to return, Arizona brought Benard back to provide depth along the second level. The fifth-year linebacker played with the Cardinals last season, recording 17 tackles (15 solo), 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 12 games.
