Free agent MLB Lofa Tatupu will work out for the Broncos on Tuesday. We haven't heard from Tatupu since he was released by the Falcons in July 2012 after suffering a torn pectoral. The 31-year-old hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2010 due to injuries. He underwent double knee surgery in January 2011. Tatupu was a heck of a middle linebacker with Seattle from 2005-2010.

Falcons will release MLB Lofa Tatupu. Atlanta is swallowing Tatupu's $600,000 guarantee and "cutting their losses" after Tatupu didn't even make it through the offseason program healthy. This may be the end of the line for the onetime Seahawks star, who is still only 29 years old but simply can't stay off the shelf. Due to a torn pectoral muscle, Tatupu isn't going to play football before the 2013 season.

Falcons coach Mike Smith confirmed that MLB Lofa Tatupu will miss the entire 2012 season with a torn pectoral muscle. Tatupu, 29, will undergo surgery to repair the injury. Although he signed a two-year, $5.75 million contract in March, only $600,000 was guaranteed. It's unlikely that he will ever play a down for the Falcons. Last year's third-rounder, Akeem Dent, is the favorite to start at middle linebacker.

Falcons MLB Lofa Tatupu (pectoral) is scheduled to meet with Dr. James Andrews on Monday. A date with Dr. Andrews is never a good sign. Per the AJC, Tatupu's injury is "serious" and he is not expected to be available when the Falcons open training camp on Thursday. Akeem Dent has a leg up on the starting middle 'backer gig already.

Falcons MLB Lofa Tatupu sustained a pectoral injury while working out Friday. The severity of the injury is unknown. Tatupu, 29, missed all of the last season due to chronic knee issues. He was signed in March to compete with Akeem Dent for the starting middle linebacker job.

Falcons MLB Lofa Tatupu admits that injuries were not the reason he was out of football last season. Following double knee surgery in January of 2011, Tatupu was released by Seattle just under a year ago. "It wasn't anything to do with concussions or lingering injuries," Tatupu said. "I was ready to play last season. I got released...and I just didn't catch on with anybody." Tatupu is competing with Akeem Dent for the starting MLB job in Atlanta.

Lofa Tatupu is practicing as the Falcons' starting middle linebacker at OTAs. A training camp battle with Akeem Dent is forthcoming in August, but the Falcons are giving the more experienced player the first shot. Tatupu, 29, missed all of last season due to chronic knee problems. He doesn't appear to have any lingering issues this spring. The winner will likely only be a two-down linebacker, so there is limited appeal from an IDP perspective.

Free agent MLB Lofa Tatupu worked out for the Falcons on Friday. Tatupu had visited the Saints and Titans last month. Expected to lose Curtis Lofton to free agency, the Falcons are looking for low-cost alternatives. Tatupu will have to prove to interested teams that he's over his knee troubles of the past couple of years.

According to the National Football Post, teams are more worried about free agent Lofa Tatupu's medical history than "whether or not he still has ability." Tatupu has an extensive history of both knee injuries and concussions. His knees were reportedly the reason he sat out in 2011. Tatupu visited the Saints and Titans last week, but does not appear to be on the verge of signing a contract.
