Hawkins signed with the CFL's British Columbia Lions on Tuesday, Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports. Hawkins was out of the NFL in 2014, after working mostly as a special teamer with the Chargers in 2013. He has 71 career receptions for just 771 yards and one touchdown, with most of that production coming for the Titans back in 2011. Now 28 years old, Hawkins is unlikely to resurface in the NFL.

Hawkins has been released by the Buccaneers, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Hawkins will now look to catch on elsewhere as a depth wideout/returner.
