Free agent OT Kareem McKenzie does not plan to retire despite generating little or no interest on the open market.
McKenzie's performance fell off a cliff last year, and he's now 33 years old. "I'm not retired yet but you know what, we'll go ahead and see what happens and if no one calls me then oh we'll I guess I am," he said. "No big deal to me."

The Giants recently informed free agent RT Kareem McKenzie that he is not part of the team's 2012 plans.
Citing a team source, the Bergen Record reports that the Giants, specifically, told McKenzie to "go shopping." The G-Men are high on 2011 fourth-round pick James Brewer, who could compete for the right tackle job. Another option is moving LG David Diehl. McKenzie turns 33 in May. He's missed just four starts since the 2006 season, however, and should find a taker in free agency.

The New York Daily News considers free agent RT Kareem McKenzie "unlikely" to be re-signed.
McKenzie turns 33 in May and was a considerable liability in pass protection for much of the season, including the playoffs. David Diehl's versatility gives the Giants several options at right tackle for 2012. Last year's fourth-rounder, James Brewer, could be promoted if he excels in training camp.
