A 2011 third-round pick, Casey spent his first nine seasons in Tennessee, averaging 54.8 tackles, 12.8 QB hits and 5.7 sacks while playing 139 of a possible 144 games (including 137 starts). He then signed with the Broncos last offseason but suffered a season-ending torn biceps in Week 3. A free agent again this year, Casey is option for retirement at age 31.

The Broncos released Casey (biceps) on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Traded from Tennessee to Denver last offseason, Casey recorded 14 tackles in three games before suffering a season-ending biceps tear. He thus finished 2020 without any sacks, ending a seven-year streak with five or more. While he may be past his prime, the 31-year-old Casey should still be able to drum up some interest as an unrestricted free agent. He's immediately eligible to sign with a new team, whereas players on expiring contracts will need to wait for the start of the 2021 league year in mid-March. Given the timing of his biceps injury, Casey should be healthy before training camp, if he isn't already.

Casey (biceps) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old was already ruled out for the season and on injured reserve, but he apparently either tested positive for COVID-19 or is a close contact of an infected individual. Regardless, Casey should return to injured reserve once he clears the COVID-19 protocols.

Casey (biceps) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Casey suffered a torn biceps during Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay, so it's no surprise to see him headed to the injured list. The 30-year-old is expected to miss the rest of the season after totaling 14 tackles across the first three games.

Basey suffered a torn bicep in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Casey is expected to miss the rest of the 2020 season as the injuries pile up for the Broncos on both sides of the ball. For the time being, DeShawn Williams will likely bump into a starting role opposite Shelby Harris on the defensive line, but DeMarcus Walker (calf) will likely push Williams for the starting gig once he returns from IR. Expect Casey to be placed on IR soon.

Casey recorded six tackles (three solo) and two pass breakups in Monday's 16-13 loss to the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
Casey logged 70 percent of the defensive snaps against his former team, and although he didn't take down Ryan Tannehill, he did record a QB hit. The pass breakups were a nice touch, too, as he posted just one over the previous three seasons. He'll now direct his attention to Pittsburgh for Week 2.

The Broncos acquired Casey from the Titans on Wednesday in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The five-time Pro Bowler is coming off a 2019 campaign in which he notched 44 tackles and five sacks in 14 games. The 30-year-old defensive end is signed through 2022, and his addition will provide Denver's defensive line with an immediate boost.

Casey recorded 44 tackles, five sacks and seven tackles for a loss across 14 games for the Titans in 2019.
EDGE Analysis
Casey spent plenty of time in opposing team's backfields in 2019, finishing second on the team in sacks and third in tackles for loss. The nine-year veteran now has at least five sacks in each of his last seven seasons, maintaining his status as a mainstay along the Titans' defensive line. Casey is set to return to the Titans in 2020, as he has three seasons remaining on his current contract.

Casey notched four solo tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble during Saturday's playoff win over the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Casey didn't have a single multi-sack game during the regular performance, but he managed to bring down Lamar Jackson twice during Saturday's upset win. The veteran defensive end will look to keep up his momentum during next Sunday's AFC Championship Game against either the Chiefs or the Texans.
