LeRibeus signed with the Buccaneers on Friday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
LeRibeus is a 2012 third-round pick of the Redskins that spent the last two years with the Saints after the expiration of his rookie deal in Washington. The journeyman is expected to provide some training camp depth for the time being, considering Laine separately reports 2018 third-round pick Alex Cappa is still in need of further seasoning and veteran Evan Smith remains on the mend from torn labrums in both hips.

LeRibeus (ankle) was placed on Nick Underhill of The New Orleans Advocate Wednesday, Nick Underhill reports.
EDGE Analysis
LeRibeus' injury situation escalated quickly. The veteran left guard suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's win over the Ravens, the severity of which has quickly landed him on IR. Andrus Peat is expected to return to the starting lineup against the Vikings in Week 8, so Cameron Tom will serve as his primary backup with LeRibeus out for the season.

LeRibeous is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Ravens due to an ankle injury, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
LeRibeous got the start Sunday with Andrus Peat (head) inactive, but left the field during the second quarter of the Week 7 tilt. Cameron Tom will serve as New Orleans' starting left guard as long as LeRibeous remains sidelined.

Redskins G/C Josh LeRibeus is fighting to make the roster as a reserve interior lineman. A third-round pick in the 2012 draft, LeRibeus was once viewed as a future starter in Washington, but quickly fell out of favor after showing up to last season's camp more than 30 pounds overweight. With the coaching staff that drafted him gone and the new staff reportedly lukewarm, LeRibeus faces an uphill climb to make the roster.

The Washington Post reports the new Redskins coaching staff isn't believed to be high on third-year G/C Josh LeRibeus. LeRibeus, the 71st overall pick in the 2012 draft, showed up to OTAs last spring 40 pounds over his playing weight. The Shanahans wanted LeRibeus to take over one of the starting guard spots but soured on him. Coach Jay Gruden's interior line is tentatively set with LG Shawn Lauvao, C Kory Lichtensteiger, and RG Chris Chester. LeRibeus' weight problems date back to college.

The Redskins were disappointed with second-year G/C Josh LeRibeus' fitness at offseason workouts. Per the Washington Post, last year's 71st overall pick "did not have the best offseason" and OL coach Chris Foerster said he needs to be "in better shape." Barring a major turnaround, LeRibeus won't be a serious contender for a 2013 starting job. LG Kory Lichtensteiger and RG Chris Chester are locked in.

Redskins signed No. 71 overall pick Josh LeRibeus to a four-year contract. A power-blocking guard in June Jones' SMU spread, LeRibeus has moved to center in Washington, practicing there exclusively in OTAs. LeRibeus figures to be a top "swing" interior reserve during his first season. Once he learns to zone block, LeRibeus could push for a full-time role as soon as 2013.

Redskins third-round pick Josh LeRibeus practiced exclusively at center during the team's first rookie minicamp. LeRibeus was a power-blocking guard at Southern Methodist, but the Redskins are turning him into a zone-blocking center. If athletic enough to execute the transition, LeRibeus could supplant Will Montgomery in a season or two.
