Former Bengals WR Jordan Shipley announced his retirement from the NFL in January. Shipley, a 2010 third-round pick of the Bengals, posted a promising 52/600/3 line as a rookie. But he tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus two games into the 2011 season and never recovered, getting released during 2012 training camp. Shipley has signed on with the Outdoor Channel as an occasional host of hunting shows.

The Patriots worked out free agent WRs Jordan Shipley, LaQuan Williams and Devon Wylie on Tuesday. The Pats also worked out TE Brandon Barden. It's possible the Patriots are looking to make a move with Danny Amendola's (concussion) status up in the air, but they may also be just updating their emergency list.
