Cameron is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron will have to pass standard concussion protocol testing before he can return to the field. If he is ruled out for the remainder of the contest, Dion Sims will take over as the starting tight end, with MarQueis Gray serving as the only other option on the active roster.

Cameron had five receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins 31-24 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron has had his issues trying to get in sync with Ryan Tannehill and the offense seemingly since being signed by Miami before last season. Perhaps the system has finally clicked for him and he will once again become the reliable fantasy tight end that he was for Cleveland. Sunday was a game in which Tannehill had to throw the ball 45 times so just about everyone had there share of targets. We have seen Tannehill look for his tight end in the red zone in the past so this could be the start of Cameron becoming fantasy relevant once again.

Cameron (thigh) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron could re-establish himself on the fantasy radar in the coming weeks, but his two-catch, six-yard effort in Week 1 suggests that a wait-and-see approach is in order on that front.

Cameron (thigh) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron was a full participant throughout practice this week, so he's widely expected to play Sunday despite carrying a thigh issue. In Week 1 against the Seahawks, Cameron only caught two passes (on three targets) for six yards, and although Sunday's matchup with the Patriots doesn't appear much more favorable, the veteran will still hope for an improved performance.

Cameron has two receptions for six yards as the Dolphins lost to the Seahawks 12-10 on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron was only targeted three times but this was still an underwhelming performance. He has had trouble getting in sync with the offense all preseason and very little changed in Week 1. While it's true that the Dolphins don't really have any one on the roster who will push him for the starting job, another game or two like this could see QB Ryan Tannehill look in just about any other direction but his during games.

Cameron secured only one of four targets for six yards in Thursday's 17-6 preseason victory over the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
The starting tight end had a pair of drops and was generally the most ineffective of all of the Dolphins' starting skill players during extended action. Cameron is nevertheless expected to play an important role in head coach Adam Gase's offensive system, although he'll have an uphill climb for targets considering the talented trio of DeVante Parker, Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills figure to command plenty of Ryan Tannehill's attention.

Cameron had one reception for five yards in the Dolphins loss to Dallas on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron has had a rough training camp trying to learn the new offense. He dropped an easy touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill on Friday and while that drop is concerning, it happens. What should be encouraging for fantasy owners is that Tannehill was looking his way in the red zone.

Cameron is still in the process of learning the new offense, Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Usually an Adam Gase offense is extremely tight end friendly but Cameron still hasn't caught on to all of the nuances as of yet. Cameron was a disappointment last season in Miami so better things are expected this season but it seems it could take him a few games before he fully learns the system. Proponents of the offense will point out that Julius Thomas had his best season playing in it, but that was with Peyton Manning behind center, not Ryan Tannehill.

Cameron said a talk with Julius Thomas helped convince him to stick around with the Dolphins under new head coach Adam Gase, who served as Thomas' offensive coordinator with the Broncos in 2013 and 2014, the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following his disappointing first season in Miami, the 27-year-old Cameron was going to be released if he didn't agree to a pay cut. His comments suggest he strongly considered moving on, yet ultimately decided to give things a chance in a Dolphins offense that could place more emphasis on the tight ends. Cameron thus accepted a pay cut from $7.5 million to $6 million, but with only one-third of the salary guaranteed, it's still possible a poor training camp could lead to his release. Cameron had an ugly 2015 campaign, catching just 35 passes for 386 yards and three touchdowns, despite seeing 70 targets (5.5 YPT) while playing all 16 games. Health was his biggest issue prior to last season, as he was mostly efficient with his targets during a four-year run with the Browns.

The Dolphins have restructured Cameron's contract in order to gain a degree of salary cap relief, the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per the agreement, Cameron's base salary for 2016 has been reduced from $7.5 million to $6 million, while more importantly ensuring that the tight end will be retained this coming season after he was limited to 35 catches for 386 yards and three TDs in his first year with the Dolphins. Under new coach Adam Gase, who believes that Cameron is a good fit within his offensive system, the tight end could be in a for a bounce-back season, assuming he can avoid the sort of injury issues that hampered him during his four-year stint with the Browns.
