Titans signed QB John Skelton, formerly of the 49ers. Skelton had a cup of coffee in San Francisco after spending training camp with the Bengals and getting beaten out by Josh Johnson to back up Andy Dalton. Still only 25 1/2 years old, Skelton has a career TD-to-INT ratio of 15:25. The Titans hope he will push Rusty Smith behind Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The Packers will work out free agent John Skelton on Monday evening. They tried out old pal Matt Flynn earlier in the day, but haven't signed him yet. Aaron Rodgers is week to week with a collarbone injury, while Seneca Wallace suffered a first-quarter groin strain in Sunday's loss to Detroit. The Packers are looking for a healthy body to back up Scott Tolzien. Yuck.

Free agent QB John Skelton worked out for the Bucs Tuesday. Skelton is also expected to visit with the Texans this week. He wouldn't be more than a No. 3 quarterback if signed. Skelton failed to make the Bengals this preseason and was waived by the 49ers earlier this month.

The inaccurate, immobile former Cardinal would seem to be a poor fit for the 49ers' cerebral, multiple offense, but you could do much worse for a No. 3 quarterback. Skelton is taking rookie QB B.J. Daniels' roster spot.
