Porter, 37 next month, retired from the NFL in the summer of 2012 and joined Colorado State's, his alma mater, coaching staff as an undergraduate student assistant coach last season. Porter played eight seasons for the Steelers from 1999-2006, racking up 60 sacks. He's still getting his feet wet at the coaching level.

No details are available other than the allegation that Porter wrote at least one check with insufficient funds in Clark County, Nevada. After a couple of disappointing seasons with Arizona, Porter admitted his knees could no longer handle the grind. He may be an eventual candidate for the Steelers' Ring of Honor.

The former All Pro appeared in just six games, and was horrendous when doing so, grading out as one of the worst linebackers in football by Pro Football Focus. At one time one of the best players in the game, it's quite possible Porter is at the end of the line after entering the league as a third-round pick of the Steelers in 1999.
