Tryon-Shoyinka will not have his fifth-year option picked up by the Buccaneers, Luke Easterling of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tryon-Shoyinka will now enter the 2024 season in the final year of his rookie contract. Although it hasn't been all bad for the Washington product, he has yet to live up to the expectations of being the team's first-round selection in the 2021 Draft. However, he did post career highs with 45 combined tackles and five sacks last season, despite playing 250 fewer defensive snaps than he did in 2022.

Tryon-Shoyinka recorded 45 tackles (28 solo), including 5.0 sacks, a pass defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across 17 regular-season games in 2023. He added four stops (two solo) in two postseason contests.
EDGE Analysis
The 2021 first-round pick did set new career highs in tackles and sacks while forcing and recording the first turnovers of his first three seasons. However, Tryon-Shoyinka still struggled with consistency in terms of getting to the quarterback, recording only two sacks after Week 6 despite remaining healthy throughout the campaign. Tryon-Shoyinka also posted four or fewer tackles in 18 of 19 total games, and he saw third-round rookie YaYa Diaby outperform him and eventually take over the starting left outside linebacker role. Tryon-Shoyinka has one year remaining on his rookie contract, and considering his experience in Todd Bowles' defensive system, he should play a solid rotational role, at minimum, in 2024.

Tryon-Shoyinka recorded four tackles (three solo), including a sack, and also defensed a pass in the Buccaneers' 20-6 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Tryon-Shoyinka snapped a two-game sackless streak with a second-quarter takedown of Jared Goff. Tryon-Shoyinka's four tackles also tied a season high, but the third-year linebacker is yet to truly live up to his pedigree as a 2021 first-round pick despite Todd Bowles' aggressive scheme setting its linebackers up for plenty of pass-rushing opportunities.

Tryon-Shoyinka posted four tackles, including two sacks, and logged an additional quarterback hit in the Buccaneers' 27-17 win over the Bears on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The third-year edge rusher recorded the second multi-sack game of his career, with the first having come way back in Week 4 of his rookie 2021 campaign. Tryon-Shoyinka has struggled to fully live up to his first-round pedigree over his first pair of seasons, but he was expected to take a big step forward in 2023 after an impressive training camp. While his momentum didn't carry over into the regular-season opener -- Tryon-Shoyinka posted just two total tackles in that win over the Vikings -- perhaps his effort against the Bears will serve as a launchpad for a surge in production.

Tryon-Shoyinka stood out in Monday's pass-rush drills, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 2021 first-round pick has amassed four sacks apiece in each of his first two seasons, but the Buccaneers are banking on a significant step forward from the edge-rushing linebacker in 2023. Tryon-Shoyinka offered reason for optimism in that regard Monday, with Dix noting the Washington product put on a nifty inside-outside move that gave him a free path to a sack. Tryon-Shoyinka has continued to hone in on his technique throughout the offseason and continues to display excellent burst off the edge, traits that could lead to career-best numbers in 2023.

Tryon-Shoyinka posted 40 tackles (23 solo), including four sacks, and defensed two passes across 17 games during the 2022 regular season.
EDGE Analysis
The 2021 first-round pick also tallied two tackles (one solo) in 41 snaps during the wild-card loss to the Cowboys. Tryon-Shoyinka played a career-high 806 snaps on defense during the regular season, which led to him boosting his rookie-season tackle total by 11 stops and matching his 2021 sack tally as well. Tryon-Shoyinka could be in line for even more opportunity next season if position mate Lavonte David departs via free agency.

Tryon-Shoyinka recorded seven solo tackles during Sunday's 30-24 victory versus Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
Tryon-Shoyinka recorded a career high in tackles while also logging more than four stops for the first time this season Week 17. The second-year linebacker opened the season in a rotational role at edge rusher, though he has now played all but one defensive snap with Genard Avery (abdomen) and Shaquil Barrett (Achilles) both on IR over the past three weeks. With the NFC South now officially locked up, it's possible Tryon-Shoyinka could play decreased snaps if Tampa Bay decides to rest some starters Week 18 against Atlanta.

Tryon-Shoyinka (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tryon-Shoyinka will be available to start at linebacker in Sunday's contest versus Cincinnati, after he dealt with a hip issue throughout the week. With both Carl Nassib (pectoral) and Genard Avery (abdomen) ruled out this weekend, the 2021 first-rounder will likely be called upon to handle more snaps than this usual workload.

Tryon-Shoyinka (hip) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Bengals, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tryon-Shoyinka submitted a full practice Friday after being limited Wednesday and Thursday due to a hip injury he sustained in Tampa Bay's Week 14 blowout loss to the 49ers. However, he's still considered questionable for Week 15. The second-year pass rusher has yet to miss a game this season, totaling 25 tackles, 3.5 sacks and one pass defense.

Tryon-Shoyinka (hip) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tryon-Shoyinka sustained a hip injury during the team's Week 14 blowout loss to the 49ers and didn't return. His participation at practice, albeit in a limited fashion, Wednesday is encouraging, but he'll likely have to log at least one full session to avoid an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against the Bengals.
