Hughes (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's divisional round matchup with the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes will be forced to miss a second game in a row after injuring his ankle in Week 18. In his absence, Derek Barnett and Myjai Sanders are candidates to see an increased workload on Houston's defensive line versus Baltimore.

Hughes (ankle) is out for Saturday's game against the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran edge player missed all three practices this week. He played in all 17 games during the regular season, recording three sacks on 42 percent of the defensive snaps. The Texans are dealing with a number of injuries at the defensive end spot.

Hughes (ankle) did not participate at practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes was forced out of Houston's regular-season finale early with an ankle injury, and now he has just one more chance to practice prior to the wild-card round. If he can't do so Thursday, he'll likely be unavailable Saturday.

Hughes is questionable to return to Saturday's contest against Indianapolis due to an ankle injury.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes was hurt in the third quarter and subsequently headed to the medical tent. The veteran's departure is a blow to a Texans defensive line that is already without Jonathan Greenard (ankle) for the win-and-in matchup. Myjai Sanders may see more work if Hughes is unable to return.

Hughes recorded four tackles and two sacks in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Bears in Week 3.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes had his second two-sack game -- he recorded two in Week 1 -- and leads the Texans with four sacks through three games. Other than the sacks, Hughes and the rest of defense have not done a good job stopping the run. The Bears rolled up 281 yards rushing for a 7.0 average per carry. For the season, the Texans have allowed 607 rushing yards and 5.6 per carry through three weeks.

Hughes had three tackles, two sacks, an interception and forced a fumble in Sunday's 20-20 overtime tie with the Colts in Week 1.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old Hughes showed he still has some game left in him. His interception thwarted a drive that could have given Indianapolis a lead, then he took points off the board with sack-fumble that led to a Colts punt instead of a field goal.

Hughes started at defensive end and saw his first action of the preseason in Thursday's game against the 49ers, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old Hughes, who signed with Houston during the offseason after a nine-year career in Buffalo, was dominant while in the game. He hounded quarterback Trey Lance on the first drive, forcing an incompletion on third-and-17. He later made life difficult for San Francisco, making three consecutive plays to scuttle a drive, including sealing off a running lane on fourth-and-2, leading to a stop of running back Trey Sermon. Hughes and Jonathan Greenard are expected to be the starting edge rushers, which should help a unit that ranked fifth-lowest in the league last year in quarterback pressures (20.7%), per Pro Football Reference.

The Texans signed Hughes on Tuesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes has missed only one game since 2011, but his production has dropped in recent years. Regardless, the veteran should still garner a solid role for the Texans in 2022.

General manager Brandon Beane said this week that while he expects Hughes -- an unrestricted free agent -- to explore the market, he's very open to having the veteran return to the team, the Bills' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes will be 34 by the time next season rolls around and he's clearly not the player he was at his peak, but the Bills use such a heavy rotational system that he can still contribute on a part-time basis. And his locker room presence for what was the league's best defense in 2021 is off the charts. The Bills are up against it with the salary cap, so if another team comes waving a good deal more money the team that's enjoyed his services for nine seasons may have to say goodbye. But that may not be sure bet after Hughes posted just 2.0 sacks and 18 total tackles in 2021.

Coach Sean McDermott said Friday on WGR 550 Radio that Hughes (foot) is expected to practice fully Friday and play Sunday against the Panthers, Chris Jenkins of the Bills' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes almost never misses any action, and even though he's slowed down in his age-32 season (he has just 1.5 sacks to date), he'll be part of the plan to help the Bills try to snap a two-game losing streak and remain in the playoff chase.
