Rams signed RB Jerious Norwood to a one-year contract. The Rams were on the prowl for a scatback to play behind Steven Jackson, initially targeting Darren Sproles and Reggie Bush. Those moves didn't happen, so they'll settle for a 28-year-old coming off a torn right ACL who's likely willing to play for the league minimum. The brittle Norwood just isn't an option to play many snaps if S-Jax goes down. The Falcons' coaches never trusted him on passing downs, and Norwood hasn't been the same player since busting out of the gates for a 6.17 YPC average in his first two seasons.

Free agent Jerious Norwood is visiting the Rams on Tuesday. There were rumors on local St. Louis radio that Norwood dined in town Monday evening. He has connections to GM Billy Devaney from Atlanta, and would probably be available for the sixth-year minimum. The Rams shouldn't be done adding to their backfield after signing Norwood, who's coming off a torn ACL.

Free agent Jerious Norwood is reportedly among the running backs on the Rams' "radar." The Rams are taking a bargain-basement approach to backup running backs. Norwood is coming off a torn right ACL and was let go without a fight by the well-run Falcons. He was drafted when Rams GM Billy Devaney was in the Atlanta front office, however, and would add competition at an awfully thin position.

The Falcons confirmed they will not be bringing back free agent RB Jerious Norwood. The Falcons had no interest in retaining Norwood even though Jason Snelling is a free agent. His inability to stay healthy has put him on the back burner during free agency and the change-of-pace back can likely be had on the cheap.

The player rep for free agent Jerious Norwood acknowledges the Falcons are "going in a different direction." "Somebody is going to pick him up," insists the agent. "He's a great player. ... He's ready to play. Somebody is going to get him real quick." The brittle change-of-pace back tore his right ACL less than 10 months ago. We'd be surprised if he lands a guaranteed contract.

Free agent Jerious Norwood insists he's fully healthy after surgery to repair a torn right ACL last September. "I'll be ready to roll this football season," Norwood said. "(Rehab) is pretty much over with." Norwood's agent has been contacted by "a handful of teams," all of them concerned about his health. Norwood was considered an injury risk even before the ACL tear. The market for his services will be softer than he expects.
