Davis was relegated to special teams in 2014, where he recorded two tackles in six games. The Falcons simply have too many talented wide receivers for Davis to be a viable option on offense. He'll be a restricted free agent this offseason.

Davis (ankle) was activated from the PUP list Friday, ESPN.com's Vaughn McClure reports. Davis is evidently ready to go for Sunday's game against Cleveland, as the Falcons cut wideout Freddie Martino upon activating Davis. Davis is worth monitoring in case he pushes for the third wideout role in Atlanta after totaling 216 yards and two touchdowns on just 17 targets last year, but he has a long climb to make on the depth chart before he's worth fantasy consideration in most situations.

Davis (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Afterward, he stated, "It feels pretty good. It still is a little bit brand new just getting back to doing everything and running routes and being on special teams. I think the biggest part is being back out there and getting into the same routine and helping. I'm feeling good and just trying to get my cardio back." After practicing in a limited capacity last week, Davis has received an uptick in reps and is seemingly closing in on his season debut. The Falcons must make a decision on activation from the PUP list by Nov. 24, but it's safe to say that Wednesday's development is a step in the right direction.

Davis (foot) returned to practice Wednesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports. The development opens the door for the 21-day period in which the Falcons must make a decision to activate Davis or place him on season-ending injured reserve. The third-year wideout underwent foot surgery in early July, but if he's given the all-clear to play, he'd bolster a receiving corps headed by Julio Jones and Roddy White.

Davis (foot) will begin this season on the PUP list, ESPN.com reports. Davis underwent foot surgery in June and was initially expected to miss six weeks, but his timetable has since changed. The wideout will now miss Atlanta's first six games while continuing his recovery. In light of injuries to the Falcons' wide receivers last season, Davis made three starts and made 12 catches for 216 yards and two touchdowns. Now, his absence opens an opportunity for speedster Bernard Reedy to make the Falcons' roster.

Falcons placed WR Drew Davis on the physically unable to perform list. "Drew felt some discomfort in his foot at the end of minicamp," said coach Mike Smith. "We decided to send him to the doctors for some evaluations and it was determined he had suffered an injury that would require a procedure." The Falcons expect Davis to miss around six weeks.

Drew Davis caught three passes for 70 yards in Week 16 against the 49ers. Davis was elevated to the No. 3 receiver this week with Darius Johnson (ankle) out and ended up reeling in all three of his targets. His biggest play was a 59-yard catch-and-run where he busted out a spin move to set up and eventual Steven Jackson two-yard touchdown. Davis will likely handle No. 3 duties again in the regular season finale against the Panthers next Sunday.

Falcons WR Drew Davis caught a 36-yard touchdown pass in Sunday's Week 14 loss to Green Bay. Davis' lone reception went to the house on a crossing route following a tight-window throw from Matt Ryan. Davis is serving as Atlanta's No. 4 receiver, behind Roddy White, Harry Douglas, and Darius Johnson.

Drew Davis did not catch a pass in Sunday's Week 10 loss to the Seahawks. With Roddy White back, Davis barely played. He's safe to drop across the board.

Drew Davis played on 71-of-83 snaps in Sunday's loss at Arizona. Over the last two weeks, Davis has played 87.0 percent of the snaps. It led to a breakout Week 8 performance that included five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. The problem, of course, is that Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) could be back as soon as this week. At that point, Davis won't be getting enough playing time to be worth a start.
