The Maricopa County Sheriff's Department confirms Donovan McNabb spent one day in jail as part of a plea agreement stemming from a December DUI arrest. "I have had other high profile athletes who have been incarcerated with no problems and this latest athlete follows that same pattern," the sheriff said. What remains unclear is how the entire episode flew under the radar for nearly half a year. Either way, it's now in the past for McNabb, who appears poised to keep his multiple jobs in the media.

TMZ reports Donovan McNabb was arrested for DUI in January, and agreed to serve one day in jail as part of a plea agreement. That explains the mugshot, but doesn't explain how the news was kept under wraps for three months. It's also unclear if the matter is resolved or ongoing. Out of the league since 2011, McNabb officially retired in September. It's his first-known brush with the law.

Donovan McNabb has reportedly been arrested in Arizona. The infamous Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has released a mugshot without explanation, but ABC Phoenix reports McNabb has indeed been arrested. It appears to be in relation to an unresolved traffic issue. More details should be available shortly.

Free agent Donovan McNabb announced on his NBC Sports Radio show that he will retire as a member of the Eagles in September. McNabb, 36, says the team has suggested having the ceremony on September 19, when Andy Reid and the Chiefs come to town for a Thursday night game. McNabb hasn't played in a game since he started six games for the Vikings in 2011. He has since moved on to NFL Network as an analyst. McNabb played 11 seasons with the Eagles, leading them to six division titles, five NFC Championship games, and one Super Bowl appearance. He completed 59 percent of his passes for 37,276 yards, 234 touchdowns, and 117 interceptions. McNabb also ran for 29 scores, finishing with a respectable 85.6 QB rating.

Although he's yet to officially retire, Donovan McNabb says he's focusing on his media career. An analyst for NFL Network, McNabb announced Monday he's also signed a radio deal with NBC Sports. ESPN's Sal Paolantonio hinted earlier this month that McNabb could reunite with Andy Reid in Kansas City, but McNabb says it's not happening. "I'm focusing on perfecting what I'm doing right now, and that's working (in media)." McNabb turned 36 in November.

Speaking in a Wednesday radio interview, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio floated the idea that Andy Reid could sign free agent Donovan McNabb as a back-up if he lands in Arizona. "Reid had to be talked into trading McNabb to Washington by (GM) Howie Roseman, kicking and screaming," Paolantonio reasoned. "I'm just warning you, don't be surprised if it happens." Paolantonio - a highly-respected reporter - appears to be more thinking out loud than suggesting McNabb to Arizona is a distinct possibility, but it's still fascinating. McNabb, of course, spent 2012 on the couch. We would say it would be a terrible idea, but then again, Arizona is the same franchise that's given Max Hall, Derek Anderson, Ryan Lindley, John Skelton and Brian Hoyer starts in recent seasons.

Free agent Donovan McNabb would reportedly consider a return to the NFL "if the right team called." CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora suggests the Cardinals and 49ers as potential landing spots. Even though McNabb lives in Arizona, the team has never shown interest. The Niners have no need for his services. Rotoworld heard from a reliable source last month that McNabb had ballooned well beyond his playing weight this summer. It's hard to imagine him playing meaningful snaps for any team in 2012.

Free agent QB Donovan McNabb said there's a 80-to-90 percent chance he'll play in the NFL this season. McNabb, 36, has garnered no known interest on the open market this offseason. However, he says he has "about three teams that I'm looking at." McNabb will probably need a rash of injuries at the quarterback position during training camp just to land a backup gig.

Eagles coach Andy Reid would "highly recommend" free agent Donovan McNabb. "I still think he can play," Reid said Monday. "He looks physically good. He looks like he could go out and play tomorrow." With journeyman Trent Edwards, the unproven Mike Kafka and rookie Nick Foles behind Michael Vick in Philly, a McNabb reunion would make some sense on paper, but there's a zero percent chance it happens. Admittedly willing to play anywhere, McNabb isn't likely to be guaranteed anybody's No. 2 job.
