Lewis has decided to retire from the NFL, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis spent the final three years of his career handling a depth role with both the Titans and Giants, but he will be best remembered for his tenure with the Patriots from 2015-17. He was a member of New England's roster during the Super Bowl LI win over Atlanta, and he racked up 1,110 yards from scrimmage and nine total touchdowns for the team in 2017.

Lewis finished 2020 with only 29 carries and 19 catches.
EDGE Analysis
That the 30-year old made little impact even after Saquon Barkley was lost for the year tells you what you need to know. He might catch on somewhere in 2021, but the end of the line is probably near.

Lewis rushed once for 15 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis played 24 snaps on offense, his highest number since Week 2, but he still logged just one touch. The veteran running back hasn't recorded more than five touches in a game since September, as Wayne Gallman has been the clear-cut lead back.

Lewis rushed once for four yards and caught both targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 20-6 loss to the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis started the game with a bang, returning the opening kickoff for 48 yards and setting up a strong opening drive for the Giants. However, he logged just one touch before the fourth quarter, as he was largely left out of the offensive game plan while Wayne Gallman and Alfred Morris combined for 16 carries. With Devonta Freeman (ankle) designated to return from IR as well, Lewis faces long odds to garner meaningful reps in New York's backfield this year.

Lewis collected 14 yards and a touchdown on two carries, adding four kick-return attempts for 84 yards while losing one fumble during Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Though Lewis punched in the Giants' only TD of the contest, his fumble on a second-quarter kickoff return cost New York dearly. Kyler Murray would connect with Dan Arnold for an Arizona TD four plays after the turnover en route to a 13-0 halftime lead. Lewis has taken back 15 of the Giants' 27 kickoff-return attempts in 2020, though with his Week 14 gaffe, Darnay Holmes (knee), Darius Slayton and C.J. Board may garner more serious consideration down the stretch. The veteran continues to take a back seat to Wayne Gallman in the running game, as New York prepares for a Week 15 Sunday night showdown against Cleveland.

Lewis rushed three times for six yards in Sunday's 17-12 win over the Seahawks.
EDGE Analysis
New York's running backs accounted for 29 carries, 188 rushing yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win, although most of that work went to Wayne Gallman. Lewis finished with just 12 snaps on offense. He hasn't handled more than five touches in a game since Week 2 against Chicago. Gallman is the only dependable Giants back for fantasy purposes.

Lewis registered 10 rushing yards on two carries, adding a seven-yard reception during Sunday's 19-17 win against Cincinnati. He also registered 25 yards on a pair of kickoff returns.
EDGE Analysis
Alfred Morris ranked second in the RB pecking order with four carries behind Wayne Gallman's team high of 24. Lewis at least garnered some work on the ground after going without a carry in two of his three preceding outings entering Sunday. The 30-year-old received a total of 22 offensive snaps against Cincinnati, but he hasn't had more than five offensive touches in a game since Week 2. Lewis will remain a complementary option to Gallman when the Giants head west for a Week 13 matchup against the Seahawks' No. 3 rush defense.

Lewis secured both of his targets for 17 receiving yards, adding two kick returns for 35 yards during Sunday's 27-17 win against Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Against the team that drafted him with a fifth-round selection in 2011, Lewis took a back seat in the running game as Wayne Gallman (18 carries), Alfred Morris (eight) and Elijhaa Penny (one) split the RB rush attempts. Gallman has handled 12-plus carries each of the past three weeks while racking up 165 rushing yards and four rushing scores. During the same span, Lewis has just three carries for five yards, doing most of his damage as a pass-catcher with six receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown against Tampa Bay, Washington and Philadelphia. Lewis and the Giants now head into a Week 11 bye before facing Cincinnati on Nov. 29.

Lewis rushed three times for five yards and caught both targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis ceded most of the backfield reps to Wayne Gallman and Alfred Morris, both of whom recorded double-digit touches. He finished with just 17 of 77 offensive snaps (19 percent). Lewis has been able to carve out a role as the team's kick returner, but his backfield duties have diminished and likely will take another hit once Devonta Freeman (ankle) returns to action.

Lewis did not garner any rush attempts during Monday's 25-23 loss to the Buccaneers, but he did collect two catches for eight yards, including a seven-yard touchdown catch.
EDGE Analysis
Lewis laid out to secure his second score of the 2020 campaign, diving past Devin White to corral the first of two Daniel Jones TD passes on the night. The veteran back has averaged just two carries per appearance this season, though he's supplemented with an additional 2.5 targets per game. On Thursday Night Football, it was Wayne Gallman (12 carries) and Alfred Morris (eight) who consumed the entirety of the Giants' RB workload on the ground.
