Bengals released DE Derrick Harvey. It speaks especially poorly to Harvey's camp showing that the Bengals recently lost LE Robert Geathers indefinitely following knee surgery. They'll swallow a $60,000 signing bonus to release Harvey, who was the eighth overall pick in the 2008 draft. Harvey's disappointing NFL tenure may be approaching its end.

Bengals signed DE Derrick Harvey, formerly of the Broncos. The eighth pick in the 2008 draft, Harvey has been a near-complete bust, managing just eight sacks in 52 career appearances. Harvey couldn't get on the field in Denver last year, and goes to Cincinnati to compete for a roster spot.

Free agent DE Derrick Harvey is visiting the Bengals. Harvey joined, TE Joel Dreessen, CB Terence Newman, and RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis in Cincinnati. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2008 draft, Harvey recorded just two tackles in five games with Denver last year after the Jaguars released him prior to training camp.

Broncos declared DE Derrick Harvey inactive for Monday's Week 1 game against Oakland. Harvey - formerly of the Jaguars - wasn't able to crack the Broncos defensive line rotation after signing in early August. LB D.J. Williams, WR Demaryius Thomas, DT Ty Warren and DT Marcus Thomas were all ruled out earlier in the week. OL Tony Hills and G Manny Ramirez are healthy scratches.

Broncos signed DE Derrick Harvey, formerly of the Jaguars. Harvey reportedly showed up to Jags' camp in less than ideal condition, which was the straw that broke the camel's back. Despite being the No. 8 overall pick in 2008, Harvey recorded just 8.5 sacks in three seasons and had his snaps reduced last season. The Broncos and defensive-minded head coach John Fox likely see this is a low-risk gamble on talent as Harvey can learn behind Elvis Dumervil and Robert Ayers.

Jaguars waived DE Derrick Harvey. A stunner as Harvey was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2008 draft. It appears that the Jags just ran out of patience on Harvey after he lost playing time to Jeremy Mincey last season and showed almost no pass-rushing ability in three years. Harvey will get another chance thanks to his measurables, but we don't have high hopes.
