Coleman signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coleman spent the 2017 campaign with the Falcons, where he turned two carries into eight yards, while also catching two passes for 20 yards. He did, however, play in all 16 games and will look to provide that sort of reliability to Arizona after being signed by the Cardinals on Wednesday. The expectation is that Coleman will operate as the team's starting fullback right away ahead of other potential options like Elijhaa Penny and undrafted rookie Austin Ramesh.

Coleman participated in a workout with the Jets on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coleman played in all 18 games for Atlanta in 2017 after spending his first four pro seasons within the Seahawks organization. The free agent fullback averaged just over 14 offensive snaps per game last year, serving almost exclusively as a blocker. The 27-year-old Coleman accumulated eight yards on two carries in his stint with the Falcons, adding two receptions for 20 yards.

Coleman signed a contract with the Falcons on Tuesday, Curtis Jackson of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coleman last played for the Seahawks in 2015 as legal troubles prevented him from taking the field last season. He joins the Falcons alongside fullback Soma Vainuku, as the two will compete for a starting gig with the reigning NFC champions. In 31 games (seven starts) over three seasons with the Seahawks, Coleman recorded 11 receptions for 91 yards with two receiving touchdowns. He also rushed the ball 10 times for 35 yards.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he will ride the hot hand between Coleman, Bryce Brown and Christine Michael in Sunday's game against the Browns, the Seahawks' official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Fred Jackson locked in as the passing-down back, the Seahawks have three options to share the early-down workload. Carroll's comments perhaps offer some hope that Coleman could actually have a significant role, but the fullback is still the least promising option among the bunch. Carroll hasn't named a starter.

Coleman, who played tailback at UCLA, could be in the mix for running back carries with Thomas Rawls out for the season, the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
DuJuan Harris got most of the work after Rawls was injured Sunday against the Ravens. Normally a fullback, Coleman broke a 19-yard run in his lone carry Sunday. The Seahawks also signed Bryce Brown on Monday to compete for carries. Harris and Brown figure to get most of the work. Coleman's at least a great story as the only deaf offensive player in NFL history.

Coleman (foot) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Coleman broke his foot during pregame drills last Sunday, and while initial reports had him missing only 4-to-6 weeks, the team ultimately determined that he wouldn't be able to return to full strength before the end of December. Wide receiver was signed off the practice squad to take Coleman's spot on the roster.

Coleman (foot) will likely miss 4-to-6 weeks, John Boyle of the Everett Herald reports. Coleman broke his foot during pregame warmups Sunday, enabling Robert Turbin to step in as the starting fullback. The Seahawks are yet to sign another fullback, but they'll likely do so at some point in the near future.

Coleman is out indefinitely after breaking his foot during pre-game drills Sunday at St. Louis. Backup running back Robert Turbin played fullback Sunday, but the Seahawks likely will sign a fullback this week.

Coleman had one catch for 15 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's season opener against the Packers. Like most of his positional counterparts at fullback, Coleman will probably have a few opportunities to pick up touchdowns off play-action passes in short-yardage situations, which is how he scored Thursday night. He'll likely also have touch-less weeks, though he did get two carries and eight receptions in just 147 snaps last season. Of course, between Coleman, Michael Robinson and Spencer Ware, the Seahawks' fullbacks logged just 290 snaps during the regular season last year. Even with Robinson and Ware gone, Coleman's ceiling is probably in the range of 350-400 snaps, rendering him useless in nearly every format.

Seahawks declared FB Derrick Coleman, RT Breno Giacomini, S Jeron Johnson, QB B.J. Daniels, T Caylin Hauptmann, DE Benson Mayowa, and DT Jordan Hill inactive for Monday night's Week 8 game against the Rams. Coleman is out with a hamstring injury. Giacomini should be back from a knee issue in a couple weeks. All three of Golden Tate (shoulder), Bobby Wagner (ankle), and Christine Michael (illness) are active, as expected.
