Jaguars placed CB Derek Cox (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season. Cox had been sporting crutches due to swelling in his knee this week. The Jaguars have now lost both starting corners in successive weeks. This is why it's so hard to predict fantasy schedules down the stretch. A previously stout defense will also be without NT Terrance Knighton, OLB Clint Session, and perhaps DE Matt Roth. Signed through 2012, Cox should return as a starter in 2012.

Jaguars CB Derek Cox (groin) has resumed practicing this week. Cox is running with the first-team defense and expects to regain his starting job from Will Middleton opposite Rashean Mathis on Monday night against the Ravens.

Jaguars declared CB Derek Cox, FB Montell Owens, LB Clint Session, C/G Jason Spitz, WR Kassim Osgood, and DT Nate Collins inactive for Week 6. William Middleton and Rashean Mathis will start at outside cornerback, with Drew Coleman covering the slot. Session, Cox, and Spitz are all starters. Daryl Smith is active after passing all of his baseline concussion tests.

Jaguars RCB Derek Cox (groin) is listed as doubtful for Week 6. It's an upgrade from Cox's "out" listing last week, but he won't play against a suddenly red-hot Ben Roethlisberger. Chris Wesseling and Gregg Rosenthal rank Roethlisberger as this week's No. 9 fantasy quarterback start.

Jaguars CB Derek Cox (groin) has been declared out for Week 5. The Jags were shredded by Drew Brees in Cox's absence last week, and face another stiff test in Cam Newton on Sunday. Will Middleton will again get the start in Cox's place, who should be considered week-to-week.

Jaguars CB Derek Cox is listed as doubtful for Week 4 after injuring his groin in practice on Thursday. Bad news for an already thin Jaguars secondary tasked with slowing down Drew Brees. Will Middleton is expected to make the start in Cox's place. Filling in for Cox in Week 2 against the Jets, Middleton picked off Mark Sanchez, who completed 17-of-24 passes for 182 yards, two scores and two picks. Brees is a good bet to surpass 300 yards for the third time in four games Sunday.

Jaguars CB Derek Cox (rib/chest) is probable for Week 3 against the Panthers after putting in a full week of practice. Jacksonville's thin secondary could ill afford to be without Cox for a second straight week, but is still likely to be in for a long day against Cam Newton on Sunday. Cox's return allows Drew Coleman to shift back to nickel duties.

Jaguars CB Derek Cox (rib/chest) returned to Jaguars practice Wednesday. The Jags desperately need their starting corner back as part of their weak, thin secondary. Even if Cox plays Sunday, Cam Newton has a dream matchup.

Jaguars RCB Derek Cox (rib/chest) has been declared out for Week 2. DE Aaron Kampman (knee) has also been declared out. Cox's absence means that Mark Sanchez and the Jets' passing attack will be facing a team missing at least one of its starting cornerbacks for the second straight week. Drew Coleman will start in Cox's place.

Jaguars RCB Derek Cox (rib/chest) is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Jets. Cox was injured during Week 1 when he leaped into the air and then landed on his back. "All I know right now is they told me to take it easy until next week, when I get checked out again by the doctors," Cox said. Mark Sanchez and the Jets' passing game should be licking their chops as Drew Coleman is forced into an already weak secondary.
